John was always hilarious to me, and while characters like Chrissy changed pretty drastically (and Janet to some extent), John kind of seemed to be great throughout. But after getting the DVDs and finally watching every episode in order, im half convinced John was peaking just at the end of Season 8. It's strange, because I think most of us agree Season 8 was one of the weakest. But there were so many moments where he just made me laugh at loud. Especially the last episode, when he was folding up his robe, and then when he was adjusting his pilllow, that gets me every time.
Also, when he says "Oh that was a good idea" to Vicky (because she invited Rex over) and when he says "And maybe we can even invite Philip" (to Janet's wedding). I don't know why but in Season 8 his lines seemed a little different to me, and they were really funny. I always figured his ability was tapering off by the end of Three's Company, and thats why Three's a Crowd wasn't a hit. But now i'm really curious to see some eps of TAC to find out. So anyways, when do you think John was at his best? |

I think john was the same great comedian on the first episode and didn't get any better with the last he was funny all 8 seasons, he didnt hit his peak until 8 simple rules in my opinion.

i think john ritter had so much more to give and unfourtunately we will never get to see that because hes not here anymore. THREE'S COMPANY was a funny show and so were the following shows he was on. but as a comedy master that he was i don't think he ever showed us what he was able to do
.someone like him is like a band like THE BEATLES.once in a great great while.maybe once in somebodys lifetime. |
