Question For the single people on Valentine's Day....

...are you planning on spending Valentine's Day with any special friends in a non-romantic manner? Such as a hangout? Now, I am not talking about a boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife or family member. I am talking about just a friend or someone you like and just hanging out with them.

If so, can I ask for advice? I would like to try and invite a guy friend to just "hang out" in a non-romantic manner on Valentine's Day. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm going to have single girls' night out with my friends, just dinner and a movie.

I don't think there's any problem with hanging out with a guy friend on Valentine's Day. Just go for it and have fun.

Mona, I don't know the specifics of your relationship with this guy, but if he's just a friend, then I don't see a problem. If this is a guy friend that you like in a romantic way, then I think that inviting him over for Valentine's Day sends a message that you're interested in him in that way.

I have no idea if what I just wrote made any sense, but I know what I mean, lol.

As long as you don't take him home to hang out I think it's fine. There could be an intimidating factor about home hang-outs.

And no, I don't have anyone to hang out with on that day so I plan an evening to moi.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your advice/words.

Yeah, this won't be a "home" outing. It'll be a public outing.

Well, I just sent a message asking this, and he said Wednesdays are his best evenings. This means...including this Wednesday. I also mentioned in the message that I poured out feelings of my trying to hang out with him and have received non-verbal messages of forgetfulness from him. He basically lauged and said he receives that all the time from his other friends. I do remember seeing it as well when his other friends bug him as well. He says himself he is "absent minded."

I didn't say about Wednesday being Valentine's Day, but....I did mention this dinner can be for "just friends." Sooooo..... Even if it's just a friendly hangout, it's all cool.

With the possibility of snow hitting the NYC area, I will be in New Jersey tomorrow night, and if we get a lot of snow, I might wind up spending Valentine's day with my Mother and Father.

Just like I did every Valentine's Day for the first 26 years of my life.

Man oh man do I feel like crying.

Just don't ask him to be your Valentine. Tried that once.

I'm spending Valentine's like any other day...go to work, go home and watch something on DVD before falling asleep.

Oh yeah, I have to drop my car off at the shop on the way home.

Wow, what an exciting life I lead...

Valentine's Day is such a manufactured "holiday."

Good luck with everything!

I'm probably just going to sit here alone...watch some AI. My idiot "husband" has already informed me that he will be out with his "friend," and my friend is going to be w/his girlfriend, so oh well....I've got the dogs for company I guess.

Ohhhh... Awww...sorry about that. I was actually thinking of just sending him a "Happy Valentine's Day" message/image. Just as a greeting. I'll be doing that with various friends.

Thanks for the words, everyone! I will send out a message reminder (per his request) tonight and REALLY keep my fingers crossed.
