That is one of the best parts about living at home and being a dependent, I am getting everything I paid back, which is almost 300 dollars

Well if you're working and file a tax return and living at home with your parents, then you can't be claimed because you'll carry yourself.

I didn't do my taxes, may parents did but they said something about me being 18 having to do with something. I really don't know if they clamied me, but I don't see why they wouldn't. Same with my sister, she is in college, but she doesn't have a permanent residence down there.

I never got a big return back when I was living at home because my mom claimed me since she was still taking care of me

Maybe that is it. This is the first year I worked so I don't know much about tax day.

It all depends on how much the gov took out of your check and how much you made for the year. You could have claimed yourself also you could have been approved for ECI or E something and could have gotten some money back from that.

She wouldn't let you? How old were you? If you would have done your taxes yourself then she wouldn't have had any choice.
