MTV Tribute To Aerosmith - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I know this is a long shot, but I was hoping that may be someone taped the Aerosmith Special on MTV or it could have been VH1. I believe it was on a couple of years ago- sorry I can't remember for sure. I had it on tape and was going to put it on DVD but it seems to have disappeared. They were being honored and they had guests like PInk, Shakara, and TRain sing some of the Aerosmith songs.

Does anyone have agood copy of this?? E-mail me at marcusjaymes@comcast.net. I have a lot to trade or we can work something out.

(3/20/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- Aerosmith will be the second recipient of the mtvICON Award, which will be presented to the group on April 14 in Los Angeles and broadcast on the cable music channel on April 17.

Janet Jackson, who received last year's inaugural honor, is slated to open the program with a salute the veteran Boston band. Kid Rock, Train, and Pink will perform tribute versions of some of Aerosmith's songs, with Pink's rendition of "Janie's Got A Gun" the only selection specified so far. Aerosmith is expected to take the stage for the show's finale.

Kid Rock recently told LAUNCH that performing live with Aerosmith is among his career highlights. "It's always fun playing with Aerosmith--so similar in attitudes, you know, and influences in music, you know? (Aerosmith frontman) Steven Tyler being a James Brown fan and those guys being so heavily blues-influenced, you know, it's always a pleasure. The last time Aerosmith was in Detroit, me and uncle Ted--Ted Nugent--went up there and jammed with them. That was great."

Aerosmith's video for "Cryin'," which featured actress Alicia Silverstone and Tyler's daughter Liv Tyler, was voted the all-time favorite video by viewers in 1994. The new MTV honor is among a number of projects currently on tap for Aerosmith-- the group has recorded a batch of new songs that could be released as part of a forthcoming anthology or on a separate EP, and the group is also considering a new track for the soundtrack to the film Spider-Man.
