Charlize Theron Sued for Wearing Wrong Watch

For Charlize Theron, the challenge of accessorizing isn't just about complementing her attire.

The Oscar winner has been sued by Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil for not exclusively wearing the company's high-end watches as promised, report news sources.

In court papers filed on Monday, Feb. 5, Weil claims that the actress signed an endorsement deal to only wear Weil timepieces from October 2005 through December 2006. At a March 2006 press conference in Texas, however, Theron was photographed wearing a watch in the Christian Dior line, with whom she has a deal to promote their perfume. A photo of the infraction was provided as evidence.

"Plaintiffs were led to believe and had a right to believe by their written agreement that [Theron] would not promote jewelry or watches," reads the court papers. "Although the agreement clearly prohibits [Theron] from appearing in any advertisement for any jewelry, even for charity, she appeared wearing a necklace in an advertisement benefiting an AIDS charity, violating the agreement, from February 2006 to December 2006."

Damages were not specified in the lawsuit.

Theron won a best actress Oscar for 2003's "Monster." She's also starred in "North Country," "Mighty Joe Young" and "Aeon Flux."

I'd say a deal is a deal. Sounds like she's double dipping in the endorsement pool.
