It is silly. 7-11am is way too long. 7-9am is good enough really. NBC is doing this because NBC Universal shows have done terrible in syndication, like Megan Mullally. NBC-owned stations in particular have no real first run hits.

But I thought the Today Show was already the Highest rated morning show so why did they feel they needed to EXTEND?-lol

Their first-run stuff on local channels is doing terrible, that's why. Today 2 (9-10am) does better than the first run stuff. Today 7-9am does really well, but Today 2 does average, but better than shows like Martha and Mullally. And I'm sure Today 3 will be even lower but better than the first-run stuff for sure, it will be up against The View and The Price is Right, which crush NBC's first run stuff at 11am.

I agree. I guess she will come on at 11am? I would ike it if it came on at 3 or 4PM.

I think WDSU Will move Ellen to 2:00 pm when The Today Show Begings it's 4th Hour in September since WDSU airs Passions at 2:00 pm

I doubt ABC would add a 3rd hour to GMA, ABC affiliates, especially ABC-owned are very strong in daytime. And Brian Damage, Today and GMA is not that much of a difference anymore in the ratings. In fact, here in NY, GMA always wins. It is mostly like that where ABC-owned channels rule. Now if you had said Early Show is no Today show, that would have been true, lol. Early Show is pathetic. It loses to Fox and CW morning shows in many places.

Passions is being cancelled to make room for the extra hour of Today, so it'll be gone by the time Today expands. I believe it's being cancelled in August.
