This story was originally filmed for UM in 1994.
Frank and Teresa Wilson married in 1926. On 23 February 1960, Frank left for work in the morning, gave his wife a kiss and said "Goodbye, sweetheart." He suffered a heart attack on the way to work and died aged 59. He left behind a wife and 7 children. In 1981, plans were being made for Teresa's 80th birthday party, which was scheduled for September 1982. Teresa's daughter Margaret decided to make a memory book for her mother containing letters and pictures of her family and friends. One night, while Margaret was having a sleepless night, she sensed someone standing at the door of the bedroom. She saw a man standing there. She soon realised it was her father. He was white and appeared to be glowing. Her father approached Margaret and told her he wanted her to write a letter for the memory book. Margaret then claimed she got her journal and began to write. He said that he would be by her side when she blows out the candles, and that he will wait for her so they can be together. When he was done, he just smiled and vanished. When she woke up the next morning, she believed it was a dream, until she found the love letter written beside her bed the next morning. In September 1982, at Teresa's 80th birthday party, she was given the memory book. She opened the book up and saw a picture of her and her husband which her nephew had drawn. On the next page, she found the letter which was written to her from her deceased husband and began to read it. Teresa began to cry and said she would look at the rest later. Initially, Teresa thought Margaret had written the letter as a way of including Frank in the celebration, but then, she began to wonder how she knew that Frank called her "Tress" when everybody else called her Teresa. Margaret claimed that she didn't know, and that that's what her father told her to sign the letter as. In September 1994, UM attended Teresa's 92nd birthday along with her family..and possibly, her husband Frank. An interesting fact about this story is that at the time of filming, Frank had died 34 years earlier, and that the Wilson's had been married for 34 years at the time of his death in 1960. |
