That kinda sucks if you have the first four seasons already, give us the extras on a separate disc at least. sheesh.

Well, I'll buy it. Although, I wish they had done this in the first place, before releasing the first four seasons. I wonder what they'll do for seasons 5-8. Will they still release them seperately? And also, which will the complete series have, the B&W or color episodes for the first two seasons? It would be great if they do it like The 3 Stooges. Where both versions are on the same disc. That way, you could watch it in B&W or Color.

All in all, this is cool news. Because we know now that we will get the complete series. We don't have to worry about that anymore. Even if you choose to buy the seasons seperately or buy the big set. The complete series will be available to those who want it (and who can afford it).

It's kind of greedy the way they do it. But it is a business decision. They release the seasons with mostly bare-bones sets and then release a complete series with bonus features. It worked for M*A*S*H. I bought the big set. However, I will not be buying The Brady Bunch complete series. The DVDs I have now are good enough. And all you're getting are some of the reunion movies and a couple cartoon episodes. Those are still something I want, but I'm not willing to pay $100 bucks or more just for the last disc alone.

Through the DVDs, I've become a fan of "Bewitched." And so I'm willing to put more money into it, to get the big set.

I already have the first four seasons and I hope that this trend is not going to continue. They should have done box sets in the first place as I cannot and will not buy the boxed set after I have already bought individual seasons. I was not put on this earth to give Sony Entertainment all of my money. I hope that the remaining seasons will be available for purchase individually.

Part of me thinks this sucks big time. I live in Britain and have been buying the R1 releases. I hope seasons 5-8 in the complete box set will be released seperately along with the extras otherwise I will have to think about forking out for 4 seasons that I already own plus the customs charges that will be applied. It sickens me that companies like Sony exploit buyers who have been buying their products (supply and demand) by doing something like this. There should be a law that a complete series boxset cannot be released until 5 years after a company who has been releasing single season sets has released every season of the series that they want to release as a complete boxset. Boy I have some crazy ideas sometimes. Perhaps this is way there is still no news on a season 5 release?

There is a possiblity that the fifth season will still come out individually since this is the last season Dick York appeared in. From what I heard, the reason Sony is releasing this series as a box set is because they don't think the Dick Sargent years Season 6-8 will sell well. My question to you guys is, would you buy the Dick Sargent years if they are released individually? Or do you just care for the Dick York years? How many of you would still buy the box set just to have the entire series in one package & for the extras?

I want the whole lot but resent this move (if true) to only release the DS years as part of a complete box set. I also really resent the idea of complete box sets as a whole that feature extras not available to single season releases. I have bought all four seasons of Bewitched so far and have helped create demand for the shows continued release on dvd and this is how I and other fans are rewarded. It's like being kicked when you are down.

Good post, Jack.

As you say, the only thing which makese sense about this RUMOR -- a rumor rejected, by the way, by the great TV Shows on DVD website. Who the hell would spend their hard-earned money on those anti-Bewitched Dick Sargeant years. Maybe 10 people? And the timing on this is weird. Are they holding Season 5 -- which is really the final year for the show -- hostage to this huge box set?

Sony is a bunch of clowns. The production costs on something like this will be enormous, and no one will buy.

Interesting, I cannot imagine why Dick Sergeant is any less popular. In any event, YES. I would buy the individual seasons of Dick Sergeant.

I want to buy seasons 5-8 individually because I already have seasons 1-4. Actually, there's lots of good Dick Sargent episodes that I like.

Same here, I didn't mind the Dick Sargeant era.
