That's waaaaaay too much... But then you live in NYC, so I think that's on par. *shrug*

I know one of the local tax companies around here will do your taxes for $90 (I'm in North Dakota).

We paid H&R Block $300 last year, and it really bothered me. I need to find someone who wants to make a quick $100. I don't work, and my husband is semi-retired. Our taxes are not complicated.

I bought TurboTax. It cost me about $60 all together. I was paying the H & R Block $165.

Nothing. I usually get my taxes done at VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assitance) at my college/job.

Is that how much TurboTax cost? I was thinking of buying the software but if it cost that much, I think I might have a friend do my taxes for free.

no; I'm not! Isn't that GREAT that I don't pay? Everyone I tell that to is really surprised. When my sister heard that she said "SWEET!!"

So, there's really no need for me to hold on to credit card statements, my Blue Cross and Medicare records, etc. (But I do anyway; just in case. Like; I ran into a problem with my Blue Cross a couple years ago and had to look up my statments)

The prices range. You can even go to their website and do your taxes from there. It's simple.
