I mean - I know he has been in a few films, but I am talking about his show. Did it get cancelled or what?? It seems like I read somewhere that he went back to doing stand-up comedy in the street where he started.

I'm not sure if it was cancelled. I doubt it somehow as it was a big earner worldwide.
It's more likely that Rowan Atkinson is taking a break from the character and thinking about his next move. He's not the busiest actor unfortunately! |

I watched an interview on the CBC that Rowan Atkinson did about a year ago, and i remeber them saying that they, he and his cowriters and crators for the life of me ican't remember their names, hadn't forseen the pheonomenon that BEAN has become. They said that they didn't know when, if they ever, be making more BEAN shows. They claimed, and rightly so, that it is quite tiring to make these shows and that they at present were all ingaged in different projects but nothing either ney or yeah was set in stone. So hopefully if we find out his production company's e-mail and all send him supportive letters that soon they'll start to work on another show or two. however, sadly,
i wouldn't bet the farm on it.

There was one entire episode, plus several short scenes, that were made for the video releases only and not to be broadcast on TV. Although I saw a clip of an early short scene when Rowan Atkinson was a guest on a chatshow with Bean having been trusted to look through an ancient manuscript...you can probably guess what happens...there is Tippex involved...

I have great news
, I was flipping through the tv last night and happened uppon a Mr. Bean I had never seen. The new Mr Bean was animated. The show is voiced by Rowan Atkinson doing the typical mr. bean mumbles and under the breath comments about things. The annimation is excellent as the animated version of Bean really looks like Atkinson, complete with his Bean mannnerisms and gestures. Of course the annimated Bean goes nowhere without his teddy bear and his austin mini. The best news of all, I feel is that this episode was made this year 2002. Hopefully this inplies that there are more of such episodes to come. For those of you who live in Canada, or those of you in the States who live close enough to the boarder to get the CBC this new set of Bean shows can be seen Friday nights at 7:00pm and 7:30pm /pacific time.

The Animated version of Mr Bean has just started being run over here, and it's made by the same company that did the live acton series.
I watched it the other day though and didn't like it. |

I saw some of the animated series last week for the first time - I would recommend it to fans, it's very good. Unfortunately for UK viewers it's been stuck in the middle of the ITV crap-Saturday schedules, which is why it's been so long until I've managed to see it. But definitely worth watching, and the animated series complements the live-action series very well.
