No, He was boring as a supportive character so it's no way he would succeeded on his own show

I agree with the majority here, I don't think that the Henry Jefferson character was strong enough to carry his own show. I can hardly recall anything he did from ALL IN THE FAMILY. He left no real impact on me, even if he got a few chuckles out of me from time to time, and if he did, I don't remember any of those times. Interesting though weezyfan how you came up with such a big cast there, just like THE JEFFERSONS had! But yeah, there's no way it ever would've worked, he just wasn't a character that could get the kind of laughs George did. Although interestingly, when his character first appeared on AITF, he was supposed to be Louise's husband (which was covered up when Sherman joined the cast by Louise telling the Bunkers that she was pretending to be Henry's wife since George was not interested in having anything to do with Archie). Could you imagine THE JEFFERSONS without Sherman and with Mel Stewart in his place?

It defintely wouldn't have been a spinoff-lol The Jeffersons would have remained on All in the Family if henry jefferson stayed on the show with Louise

No, I never thought there was anything to the Henry character. He really never made an impact the way George did. In my opinion, There really wasn't much, if any, chemistry between Henry and Louise.

Yeah, a AITF fan would have probably wanted to see the Jeffersons stay and never get their own show
