Default Classic 39 Scripts

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but has anyone ever created their own scripts from these episodes? I realize "A Matter of Record" is on the net, but I can't find any others. "The Official Honeymooners Treasury" has partial scripts, but they are from the original writers. As we know, the cast varied drastically from these. I recently started looking for volunteers at myspace. I gotta couple so far. It seams like it will be an insane amount of work, but I think it would be neat to read these. I’m not much a tech on my PC, but I am looking into trying to convert subtitles into a word format, to save time. One of my friends on myspace is starting to do his own summaries on the Classic 39. He is trying to do one per week. So far he has completed "The Baby Sitter" & the "$99,000 Answer". He is doing a very thorough job on these. If you have time, you should check out his blogs section. I think he's doing a great job at it. Below is his address.

Are you talking about writting word for word what was said by each person in the "Classic 39" episodes?

Yep, that's what I mean, typing it all out word for word. I think it will be worth the trouble. If anything, I'll know my Honeymooner lines a lot better. Heck, if we only had 39 people working on it, it could be done in no time at all. It would also be a handy reference for trivia, or even more. And what a way to pay tribute to this great show....

Default a great idea!

I think having scripts of even some of the classic 39 would be a GREAT idea! I would only want them in full instead of just certain scenes, if that makes sense. I don't have the classic 39 yet....was hoping to get them at Christmas but Santa didn't bring them (he said they ran out up at the North Pole...must be demand was pretty high LOL) altho he did bring Vol.4 of the Lost Eps on DVD.

I've wondered myself if there was a way to convert subtitles or even closed captioning of any show to text. Seems like those kinda projects are expensive.

I was actually thinking about doing this a while back, but I never got around to it. I might do a couple in my spare time, but be sure to let me know which ones have already been done so I don't spend a lot of time on it for nothing.

The adrress above will be a temporary location for the episodes. This is also the place that we will discuss who is doing what episode. So far we have done "The Babysitter" & "Pardon My Glove" The others that are in progress are "The $99,000 Answer" & "A Womans Work is Never Done". As you know"A "Matter of Record" is already on the net, so we don't have to do that one, but we need to check it for inaccurasies. I did find a way to retrieve the words from the dvd. You just have to be able to burn the dvd to your pc first. Then you can download a free program to pull them off. I still need to find out a better way of using this program because I had to do a buncha cut & pasting in order to get it lined up right. So I don't think I saved much time on the 1st one I did. We are also looking for people to proof read these and make suggestions when were done with them, so let me know if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Mooner

If I had the time I would help you guys out with this project. I think it's a good idea. It will be interesting to hear in the near future what progress is being made with all of this.

I'm about half way through "The Worry Wart". It's a lot of work, but it is really fun. Wouldn't it be neat if we could have a book of these scripts? I wonder how hard it would be to get permision to do so. Of course it's more fun to watch the show than read it, but knowing the show so well you can image it like it's really happening. If anyone has time, please check out my blogs on myspace and read "Pardon My Glove" I would love to get some feedback, good or bad.
Thanks

Moe Howard's daughter, Joan put out 2 books of 3 Stooges scripts years ago. I've wondered why no one ever did the same thing with the Honeymooners. It's not like you have to be creative.
