Default The Jeffersons Ratings 1977-78 Season And the 1978-79 Seasons

the Ratings For Each Season Were
1974-75 Season 1 #4
1975-76 Season 2 #21
1976-77 Season 3 #24
1977-78 Season 4 not in the top 30s
1978-79 Season 5 not in the top 30s
1979-80 Season 6 #8
1980-81 Season 7 #6
1981-82 Season 8 #3
1982-83 Season 9 #12
1983-84 Season 10 #19
1984-85 Season 11 #56
My Question Is What Were The Jeffersons Ratings During The 1977-78 Season And The 1978-79 Season?

That's exactly the reason. If you didn't want to watch a movie on Sunday night you watched CBS' lineup (I know I did). Also Sunday night was a guaranteed night for high Neilsen numbers because people were at home getting ready to begin the work week.

Aside from MASH (and maybe Three's Company?) the Jeffersons was the highest rated sitcom in the first 1/2 of the 80s with Alice and One Day at A Time not that far behind. Archie Bunker held its own ratingswise too- but many people watching the 80s episodes of those shows now would say that they were better in the 70s. How ALice lasted as long as it did is far more puzzling to me than the Jeffersons very long run. But in the early 80s if you wanted to laugh what other options were there- Tues night on ABC, Sun on CBS and a stray NBC show such as Gimme A Break, Different Strokes, Facts of Life or Silver Spoons. Benson also on ABC on Fridays. The NBC Thursday shows were around but until Cosby they had horrible ratings.

if cbs keep this show alone or keep it by All In the family The Jeffersons Could have Gotten as good of Ratings In the 1970s as they had in the 1980s.

You are close? The only way anyone is going to take you seriously about what the ratings is for the 77-78 is if you list the source you got the Info from. Not SOMEONE TOLD ME ON TV.COM that the ratings were.......

I'm confused by this post- General Hospital was/is a daytime soap opera- why compare that to a prime time series?

that is true.
then the person that told me that on tv tome,i wonder where they got that information.
