Oh No Where is Holly Ellenbogen on The Class?

Being a big fan of this show, I have noticed that Holly Ellenbogen has not been on in a few weeks and she hasn't been getting much air time when she is on.

I love her and her husband Perry - they are SO FUNNY! However, they don't really fit in with the rest of the group.

Will they be coming back?

Concerned!

Holly was written out. Her last episode aired a couple of weeks ago. According to reports, the creators wanted to "re-work" the show, and the Holly character would have been snuck in one minute segments in which she did some silly news report or some such. (You can see that in a couple of episodes.) The actress didn't like that idea, so she decided to leave, or she was fired.

However (and I find this odd) her husband, Perry, will still show up from time to time. I wonder how they will explain Holly's absense? Will they be so morbid as to say Fern shot/killed her?

It's funny, but I kinda figured that since she's been missing from the past two episodes, they were going to phase Holly out of the show.
Plus, Kyle has now become Ethan's buddy, which means they've lost interest in the Holly/Kyle/Perry storyline and are trying to consolidate things a bit.
Personally, I thought the Holly/Perry thing was the weakest part of the show, but I still think they had potential.

I hate it when a freshman show starts dropping characters that don't work out, thinking that the audience won't notice.

Keeping Perry around while dumping Holly (who has ties to the other characters) is a dumb idea. I guess they figure they can get a few more laughs out of the closeted gay bit.

Also, how are they going to wrap up the Fern "I'm going to kill Holly" plotline?

Are they going to ignore it and hope nobody remembers?

I think the show is better without Holly.

Holly's Oprah's mom and Perry's wife. She was in the first grade class with everyone else. Holly dated Kyle in high school. Kyle is now Oprah's teacher.

She's been absent from the last two episoides, but they're hasn't been a reference by the other characters to her not being around yet. I guess it will be coming up soon.

I noticed that Lucy Punch ("Holly") was omitted from the opening credits tonight, when the characters are shown as their younger selves, standing on the school stairs for a class picture, and then morph into their adult selves.

But nary an explanation of where Holly's disappeared to.

Hopefully they'll tie up the loose ends in her storyline.
And hopefully CBS will have the intelligence to renew this show -- which has a LOT of potential for a long, successful run.

Default So Long, Holly

That was about the swiftest boot off a show I think I've ever seen. Holly is gone with no explanation? Taken off the opening credits even? At least the son in Bonnie Hunt's show lasted a full season!

Since Holly is now gone from the opening credits, it sems to me like the producers don't want to address the problem of explaining her disappearance; maybe they are hoping that if the cast doesn't mention her, and all traces of her have now been eliminated, we the audience will eventually forget about her too.

By the way, what happened to Kyle's boyfriend? He hasn't been seen for a while either. Have they cut him loose too?

Seems like it. He's been hanging out with the Jason Ritter character more than ever, we don't see his significant other anymore. I'll miss the Holly character only because her husband was one of my favorite characters on the show.

Can someone photoshop Holly out of the cast picture above?

Seeing her brings back too many memories.

So they decided to keep her husband on the show though?
