As you may or may not remember she was the woman who was killed along with her 5 year old son (on his birthday) near Christmas. It mentions the trial of their accused murderer. Sadly they also say that Roxann was also sexually assaulted which is something UM hadn't mentioned:

Thanks for that CD, you are a master at locating updates on cases. I certainly hope Christopher didn't have to watch his mother go through that. Since Lifetime never aired this segment, I had no idea they even had a suspect. I wonder whatever happened to his female accomplice.

That's a case that I have discussed here in the past. I only saw it once (on NBC), and it was never rerun on Lifetime. But I recalled from the segment that the young victim, Kristopher Korper, was murdered on his fifth birthday. The date of the murders was December 23, 1981 (though I initially misremembered it as December 25).
Kristopher would be 30 years old if he were alive now. That's the same age his mother, Roxann Jeeves, was when she was murdered.

Yes I am curious to know where this female fit in, if at all. I believe one of the tenants where Jeeves lived did see a male and a female with the boy but then when the gas station attendant reported to see Roxann and her son with an unidentified man the female was gone. Maybe as the trial unfolds more info will come out as to the mystery woman.
I completely agree with you wiseguy about hoping and praying that Kristopher didn't have to witness any type of assault. I believe the UM segment may have said they believe Kristopher was killed first. Just when you think this case can't get any worse it seems to.

I see they caught the perp through the use of a CODIS database... the prosecutor's new best friend....
It's really a shame it's not used more. The prosecutor's office I work in doesn't really utilize all of their CODIS capabilities...

Pretty sure the mystery woman drove the getaway car, so she might get charged with aiding and embedding(?) a criminal if she is caught.

Thats great news! Too bad they're not warming up the electric chair for him though. I can't think of a guy who deserves it more.

Well that is good that he got convicted. I am assuming he was sentenced based on sentencing laws from 1981 and back then the death penalty was used a lot less in Texas because it was much harder to sentence people to death back then. In 1981 people became eligible for parole after serving 15 years of a life sentence. It means Hicks would be eligible for parole around 2039 when he would be around 88 years old. I am glad he got convicted and he will only leave prison in a pine box and that is good, he is right where he needs to be. I am against the death penalty but it is because of people like Hicks that I am sometimes tempted to support it. I want to be a defense attorney when I go to law school but I cannot imagine having to defend someone like Hicks. In this case prosecutors were right but I never want to be one due to how dirty they can be, I hope you are a clean prosecutor CRicci.
