In RALPH's "Lost Honeymooner" Covention dated August 23, 1986 they have an interview with Art & I had a question regarding this piece-
"The famous Norton hat dates back to the 1930's (when he bought it in highschool); It's an unusual green color, with a brownish band. The Norton vest was Art's brother's. The Norton outfit was the same through all the Honeymooners shows he did, but all he has left of it is the hat. Art hinted that he may donate it to RALPH, but for now he'd like to keep it incase Jackie Gleason ever decides to do another Honeymooners reunion." I always thought since the hat was something he had since highschool it would go to his sons *Brian or Paul* but I guess not. Does anyone know if Art ever donated his hat to RALPH or anywhere else? |

Peter Crescenti (co-counder of RALPH) is executive editor of Car and Travel Magazine. You can contact him by email (or by phone) from this site. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you asking him.

Damn & I just wrote him a few weeks ago. Calling would have been much faster.
Thanks for pointing that out. May have to try that. |

A few years ago, (not too long before he died) one of Art's sons (or a grandson--I don't recall) had Art's black Chevy Camaro for sale on Ebay. I think the minimum was $15K, but no one bought it. In the description, it said the locals (Art's neighbors) referred to it as "Norton's Batmobile".
I had emailed the seller and he was quite nice talking a bit about Art. I really did not know how sick he was at the time.
