Old Black and White Movie

I am an avid movie watcher; especially of the older black and white movies.

I have a question about 1 movie that I only seem to catch a bit of usually once every couple of years at 4:00 in the morning. PLEASE HELP!

The plot of the movie is about a man and his wife and her lover. It takes place somewhere in or near the jungle and when the huband realizes that his wife is not being faithful, he takes her into the jungle under the guise of painting her portrait. He has her swim in the water which makes her skin get whiter and whiter. She soon gets weak and collapses and dies. He also does this to her lover.

Any one have any idea what the name of the movie is, who is in it and what year it was made?

Any help would be wonderful. I really appreciate it.
