Default The Complete Fifth(and last season) is not going to be released on DVD

According to Anchor Bay Entertainment, they have dropped Grounded For Life, and will no longer be releasing the DVD's. With only 1 more season to go, the fifth season(which was originally planned for late March as a 2 Disc set including Audio Commentary) has been put on delay, and may not ever be released.

Seasopn 1 sales were great, so a second season was immediately planned just 3 months later. But sales for the second season were down, and sales for the third season release were even worse. And now with a forth season release, sales were down from season 1 by nearly 40%, which is horrendous.

Where did you get this info?

I only care about the first 3 seasons anyway... the last 2 were crap, IMO.

Well, I emailed Anchor bay around February. Since season 4 was released last November, she told me that the set gave the lowest sales of any TV-on-DVD set that month, which is pretty bad, so then she said the last set might not see a release.

But then I emailed her around the beginning of May, and she said that they have made a decision to release the last season around October of this year, which will be 2 discs, and very cheap, just to make us fans happy.

It would be in their best interest. Some people who haven't bought the sets yet might not if all the seasons weren't going to be released. I know I wouldn't.

Yeah, and there is going to be commentary, because it has already been stated at TSoD that the cast recorded commentary for the fourth/fifth seasons together. Hopefully that isn't all . . .

It worked. Today, I bought all five seasons (well 2 thru 5, I already had 1). I wouldn't have gotten them if they didn't release season five. And I was surprised to see the final season at Best Buy today, since I thought it was an exclusive for last week.

Was it still on sale for $15 or was it up to $20 already?

It was back to $20.

After buying the seasons, I didn't realize how sloppy the amount of episodes per season were.

Season 1 - 20 episodes
Season 2 - 17 epsiodes
Season 3 - 13 episodes
Season 4 - 28 episodes
Season 5 - 13 episodes

I'm watching the show from the beginning and I'm currently on episode 202, ready for the next one.

I didn't want to have to pay $20 for this set. I don't think it's worth it, with only 13 episodes and no bonus features. I'll just wait til it comes out on the 25th . . . maybe Circuit City will have it for $15.

yeah, the episodes were sloppy. Season 2 and 4 were the only 4 seasons of the show. Season 2 aired 22 episodes (17 produced and 5 from the first season the never aired) and season 4 aired 21 episodes produced, and 7 from season 3 that never aired.

$20 is cheap. I payed $55 for season 1 of The A-Team and their was only 13 episodes on that one and no bonus material. I actually found some of the later seasons cheaper.

But $20 is still a lot for 13 episodes of a show that won't hold up well in the next 10 years. A-Team is a much better show to pay money for.
