Default Gimme a Break! dvds OUT OF STOCK at amazon.ca

I was surprised to see both seasons are now listed as "out of stock" on amazon.ca. Does that mean they sold really well?

Actually, I got an e-mail from Amazon saying that the DVD's are delayed for anothe 4-6 weeks. I decided to cancel my order and re-order it when it says 'in stock'.

I wonder what's going on. I hope it isn't something that discontinues the series altogether. If they are re-producing the dvds, there must be some technical reason or maybe one of the mistakes noted in the set like disc numbers or the Universal logo. I wish VEI would issue some statement regarding the set.

I'm glad I did cancel my order. When I was at Wal-Mart today, they had a whole bunch of season 2 DVD's of Gimme a Break, so I picked up a copy instead of waiting. I live in Canada.

Since you're in the states, it would be impossible to find it at the Wal-Marts there.

I hope they make it up by releasing season three really quickly.

I was one of the ones who got it early in October. Sometimes it pays to pre-order things online. I'm glad I did.

As for Season 3, I would like to see it released soon too but I get the impression that something is going on with this series on dvd. When the delay occurred, it was said the dvd would be out in January without a doubt. Now, it was "officially released" but it's "out of stock". So it seems they either didn't expect having such a success as it turned out to be on dvd or there is some legal or technical reason for both delay and current status. Who knows? If we get Season 3, I'm definitely going to pre-order it.

Hey Everyone,
According to amazon.ca, as of this posting, there are only five (5) copies of Season 2 of GAB in stock and more on the way! The cost is CDN $27.96.This should be great news for VEI that this set sold extremely well. The only way to get Season 1 on amazon.ca is through a couple of private sellers. However, you should still be able to get both seasons of GAB through amazon.com without any problems. Hopefully, this means that we will hear about a release date for Season 3 soon!

Default Wholesome

By researching the various posts of the last poster, I can "really" understand what she means that she can identify with Julie because she was the "good girl"! I can "really" see this poster's wholesomeness by reading her other posts! I can also understand why she can relate to the cute little way that Samantha busts Katie's bubble at the end of "Samantha's Protest". Those of you who do not know what I am talking about in this department can look at the last set of posts before this one. All of this being said, I have a couple of questions. One thing that I know for a fact is that the only season that ever got released in the United States is Season One. Both Seasons One and Two have been released in Canada. Americans who are unwilling to wait have had their second season shipped in from Canada. From reading later posts, I am under the impression that the American company has made a formal decision "not" to release any future seasons of the show. I would be "very" interested in reading a message from anyone who knows for sure whether this is the case! In any event, another thing that I am not clear on is what the difference is between sending someone a personal message and sending them a message through their email system. I can "completely" understand that this sight does not want to reveal people's personal email addresses! This could run into all sorts of law suits and everything! However, I would imagine that, if you punched in that you want to send another member a message vie email, it would go into that person's email box. However, I am not sure what would happen if you sent someon a personal message. The last poster said that she would be more than happy to read a personal message by me! I am "very" anxious to send her such a thing! However, I need a little confirmation of how it operates. Anyone who could help me out here would be "very" appreciated!

In order to send a private message to someone on this site, click on the poster's name, just like you would when you want to view that person's public profile or other posts from this poster, and click on the icon that says, "Send a private message to (so and so)". I think that's pretty much all you do.

As for the DVD releases of GAB, Universal was the only US company to release Season One of GAB. Universal is known as the "King of OI=ne and Done". Why they have not released Season Two is beyond me, but I am not holding my breath for them. If they really wanted to, they would have released Season 2 and probably Season 3 long ago. I was one of those Americans who got Season Two from Canada, and I will to the same thing for Season 3 when it is released. I hope this answers your questions.

Hey Everybody,

As of this writing, there are only 4 copies left of GAB! Season 2 on amazon.ca and more are on the way! Obviously, this is good news. I'm sure that the people at VEI are aware of this exciting news (at least, I hope so anyway). Hopefully, this means that VEI has taken the hint and are working on getting Season 3 released, and we won't have to wait too much longer!

I don't know for how long but amazon.com has also been seeling copies of season 2 directly to customers in the US for those who don't want to buy from amazon.ca. This is good news and I'm sure S2 has been selling very well and VEI is obviously aware of it. I am beginning to doubt that we'll see season 3 by Christmas as I've been hoping. I don't know what the delay is but wouldn't it be nice if it was due to them working on original extras with the cast? I can dream

Amazon.com has been selling Season 2 since May. I wish I knew the reason for the delay in Season 3's release. I, too, am starting to have my doubts about seeing Season 3 by Christmas, but it's still only September and we still have about three months before Christmas, so I think there's still time. I think that it would be awesome if the delay was due to them working on original extras with the cast!

I would feel better about Season 3's possibilities if VEI had it listed on its upcoming releases or current projects list on their website. Someone on the Home Theatre forum mentioned it may due to music rights that the show is taking so long to come to dvd. Apparently, there are several songs in Season 3. Whatever the reason, the show has been a success on dvd from VEI. And the commitment of releasing the entire series is short-term which makes it even more appealing for collector's. I hope they deliver the full run eventually.

I heard about the music rights issue also. I know that Nell performed several songs throughout the third and fourth seasons. Whatever the reason for the hold up, I hope we get an announcement from VEI soon regarding the release of Season 3. I would also feel better about the status of Season 3 if there was something posted on VEI's website about it.

Well if it is music rights holding it up, that's a legitimate reason. I don't know if it is or isn't. I'm just saying I'd rather wait longer and get it with all music intact. If it's Nell singing songs it would be a travesty to have scenes cut out. Luckily VEI has been good so far with including all original music on it's sets.
