Red face Head Lice

I have a question...this little girl at school has these little bubs in crawling in her hair. We all assumed head lice (which scares the hell out of me), but I swear these things look like they have wings and I can easily see them, which contridicts what I've read about head lice. Anybody have any experience with head lice and know exactly what they look like? Every time I think about it, my head just itches.....*freaks out*

I don't think that head lice have wings. They are in the arachnid family.(I think!) I have been told that they jump not fly. I have never had the pleasure of seeing them.

Here are some pics.

My two sisters and I caught head lice when we went away to camp for two weeks. I was about eight years old. Was it ever nasty. My mother had to use medicine on our heads, strip our rooms down, sheets, etc. I remember scratching my head until it bled.

Lice is a bitch. I got it when I was in 3rd grade (?) and it iched like crazy. My mom was doing my hair or something before school and she freaked out. All of my stuff got washed. I got to stay home from school for a few days.

This little girl doesn't scratch her head much if at all. I'd hate to think it was lice and she was just used to it. eeeekkkk

I had lice in 2nd grade. Im pretty sure they just looked like little black flies, but Im not sure. Itched like crazy and my mother had to buy really strong lice shampoo and get a pick and pick them out.

I remember there was a big lice scare when I was in Kindergarden. Our whole class went to the nurse's office so that she could check us out one by one. She also showed us a movie on lice. It had little lice cartoon characters. I was lucky that I never got lice.

Our school doesn't send students home anymore! They can be in class all they want, giving their lice to anyone. That makes me sooooooo mad. Back when I was in elementary, you got sent home and you couldn't come back until you were lice free.
