Hmmm, it's easier to figure out who got dumber...

I have one, but it's from a drama series, not a sitcom:
AFTON COOPER on Dallas. She went from a dumb blonde from the backwoods of Mississippi to someone who knew before everyone else what was going on.

Corky Sherwood on Murphy Brown. In the first couple of seasons, she was a dumb blonde, but gradually, she became almost as good a reporter as Murphy.

Does this count since it was two different shows but the same character? Rose Nyland was dumb on The Golden Girls but she was smart when they were spun off to The Golden Palace.

Shawn Hunter from Boy Meets World..he was really dumbed down compared to corey in the beginning of the show and as time went by he got deeper and smarter specially towards the end.
