Good morning. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a dream.

In this dream, I'm in an area that's in the middle of nowhere, kinda deserty. I get the distinct feeling that I shouldn't be there... That I no longer belong. But I want to be there. An old obligation is hanging over me, somehow.

I'm helping somebody take out the trash. Not your everyday garbage run. Big industrial sized containers

Suddenly an old friend, Austin, shows up. He's known for being witty and clever with his words, but in this dream, he doesn't say much. I talk to him about something I don't remember. Ask him how the job's going.

Suddenly I'm surrounded by garbage. Austin, as far as I can tell is no where to be found. I try to get through all the garbage but I nearly run into a spider web. The spider is a black widow, only it's not black. It's dirty brown.

Spiders don't typically scare me. So I have no idea why I would dream of it.

I don't usually dream. So I was wondering what this could mean, if it means anything at all... I've been feeling very restless lately, and I've been stressed about work and school... I've been having a real hard time letting go of old responsibilities, an old life that doesn't belong to me anymore...

I wanted to write this down, so I don't forget.

I think I know what it means. I just don't know what I'm going to do about it...

Probably your subconscious' way of telling you to clean up and let go of all the old responsibilities - your proverbial trash. But you probably got that.

That segues the dream I've been dwelling on - I can't really make sense of it. I'm in a distorted version of one of the buildings on campus...and following people around are aliens who are poking and prodding them (actually from a plot of an episode of Star Trek Voyager that I haven't seen in about 6 months).

Well, so I can see the aliens but everyone else is oblivious, so I'm trying to hide from them. I duck into the elevator and go up to the 3rd floor (I tend to spend a lot of time on the 3rd floor of this building anyway). I'm wandering around, and the people and aliens are up there too. I look down into the building's lobby from the 3rd floor (It's open air) and the place is overrun. I duck back into the elevator, and push the button for the 4th floor (this is where the building distances from the one in reality).

I go up, and it's similar to the 3rd floor, but with a different inside. As the doors open, there's an alien waiting for me. I rush to close the elevator door, but an alien rushes toward me. He comes in contact with me and throws the buttons for the 5th-9th floors, then rushes off as the doors slam close.

The following transpires over a time period that felt close to 1 minute - IE a really fast pace.

5th floor doors open, and a laser weapon is pointed at the open doors. I duck into the side of the elevator and dodge the weapon fire. Doors close, I go to the 6th floor.

A strange weapon configuration that I can only equate by saying to look at what comes from the suicide booth in the Futurama pilot lunges into the elevator and tries to turn me into Julian fries. I dodge the weapon, doors close, I go up to 7. I don't remember what was on the 7th floor, but it was worse than the 6th floor. I avoid whatever it was, and go to the 8th floor.

When the doors fly open, the entire elevator fills with a strange substance I can only say has the appearance of the "snow" you see on television channels you don't get. It causes me to snap out of the dream, but the last thing I see if the figure of some strange person-shaped-thing, made out of the TV snow, in front of my normal view of my bedroom (which looked identical to how it was that night)

I barely even have memorable dreams anyway (which makes this 10-memorable-dream-in-3-night marathon that much stranger), but I haven't had any type of negative dream in years. Most of my dreams tend to pace like a movie or TV show that happen to take place in the 1st person. This was (different).

Yup. That kinda what I'm afraid it means. Problem is, I've let a lot of garbage just pile up, while I ignored it for more desirable things. Now that I've transitioned from that point in my life, I don't know where to begin.

Could be worse. Could be dreaming about aliens j/k

Your dream sounds more fun than mine. And seems to hold far less prophetic meaning.
