I have done both. Actually, I have cooked them over a flame on the burner, while on a fork. The taste of the hot dog is different when you use a microwave vs. water.

I've done it before as well. It doesn't taste as good though.

On a side note, gotta love Elvin...he's so clueless, it's just hillarious!!!

Between Sondra and Elvin, they should have been able to ORDER dinner and have it delivered instead of trying to cook dinner.

Hahahahaha!!!

That episode is called "Move It!" It's where the family wants Sandra and Elvin to move to a better appartment. They resist, but in the end decide to move to a new place for the health and safety of their expected baby. It's a good one, even though Cliff's parents are in that one and I can't stand most episodes with them in it, the story line is decent.

A lot of fans of the show hated the parents.

I've microwaved many hot dogs in my day. Elvin didn't do anything wrong.

I've done it lots of times, Even though I can't stand hotdogs, I still cook them in the microwave, it's much faster then boiling water.

True. That's the only reason I would microwave them.

Yeah, and then you don't have to dirty a pot, too.

Saw this episode last night, well I guess Elvin had no choice but to put the hot dogs in the microwave instead of using a pot of water because when Cliff tried to get a glass of water, the water was brown. YUCK!!
