Angry Why do fast food places now look like Starbucks?

I've noticed in the past several months just about every fast food place I go, McDonald's, Jack In the Box, and now a new Taco Bell they've rebuilt in Auburn, all have that bizarre, surreal Starbuck's coffee house "decor": you know, the super tall chairs, the flat mushroom-like tables that seem to sprout from the floor, dangling dim tube-shaped light fixtures that make the place look dark and Bohemian, like a freakin' OPIUM DEN!!! Artsy pictures and all, and it just doesn't look like a festive fast food place with bright sunny colors and All-American burger joint styles we've come to know and love for like, forever. They don't look like fast food joints anymore!! Nothing wrong with Starbuck's decor--IF YOU'RE IN STARBUCK'S!!!! My church was even about to make it look like that corny coffeehouse look.

Isn't that called "modern decor"? If so, that is the rage in decorating.

Some fast food places can pull off the look. Other do look very dumb. Like McDonald's.

Atmosphere. Attraction. They do it for environmental purposes to lure customers in. It's all about marketing strategies.

Someone posted pictures of the new style McDonald's is going for, IMO, it looks really cool.

Speaking of Taco Bell, there's an old TB near my campus, it seriously looks as if it hasn't been remodeled since the 80's--it looks so old fashioned.
