Question Have you ever gone through a phase with a certain food...

....that you just can't get enough of it? The craving stops as suddenly as it starts. This isn't about foods you love, it's about phases with a certain food...that eventually ended.

For the past couple of months, I've been on a hot cocoa kick. I just made my nightly mug of Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate cocoa.

Many years ago, I was obsessed with those individual packets of flavored Quaker oatmeal, to the point that I couldn't eat them for a couple of years after the phase ended.

I used to eat too many Altoids when I worked in an office, to the point that I'd get a stomach ache, but no more.

Ladies, feel free to weigh in with your pregnancy cravings. Let's hear about those pickles and ice cream.

OMG, when I was pregnant with my son, I had this bad craving for cranberry juice. There went my boyfriend at two in the morning searching for it.

I hated vegetables as a child and as a teen, but when I became pregnant with my first child, I suddenly had to have tomatos, brocolli, and cheese(something else I hated)...God, it was crazy. To this day I love all of those foods.

When I was pregnant with my second daughter, CHILI DOGS...couldn't get enough of them. I had to have three whenever I ate them. I never got sick or had any naseau. I WOULD EAT.

I know what you mean abt food cravings. I had just thought of this the other day, funny you bring it up. I was craving Lasagna real bad for like three days. I mean real bad was the craving; I was eating different stuff but that damn craving wouldn't go away. I went and bought a frozen version of lasagna...FINALLY, THE CRAVING WENT AWAY. It was so damn good.

I ate tuna like it was going out of style a couple years ago. Then stopped one day, and haven't had it since.

I am now in the midst of a waffle/hot pocket phase. Barring the discovery of mangled insects in either one of those, I won't be done eating those anytime soon.

You didn't read that article about the mangled insects in those?

Okay Irene, I know from your posts that you're a hell of a good cook, so you had to really be craving it if you bought the frozen stuff, lol. Stouffers? I think they have the best frozen food going.

Ferror Rochet. Only at Christmas. It hits like a ton of bricks; I can sit and eat 12 of them at a time and not get sick. Then after Christmas, I could love 'em or leave 'em.

Oh yes, I've gone through sooo many food phases, it's not even funny! I just got over my cheese phase--I was seriously craving cheese all the time (I usually wanted american cheese wrapped around pretzel rods, and cheese on all my sandwiches). It's winding down now, though.

About a year ago, I was going through a serious Subway phase I literally had to have a veggie or turkey sub every day for lunch or else I got cranky...I'd still eat it every day if I could (but I don't because it's too costly now). Along with the Subway phase, I was also going through a Baked Sour Cream Lays chips phase because I'd get that all the time with my Subway meal (and even wanted it for snacking at home...damn, those things are so addicting!)

Hmm, what else? Oh, when I was 16 or so, I went through an instant mashed potato phase. My friend Ann and I used to make those Betty Crocker instant mashed potatoes all the time

Right now I'd say I'm going through a 'breakfast foods' phase. I am craving pancakes with syrup all the time...so random.

Damn, I am so amazed that I didn't gain 500 lbs!

A few years ago, I had this odd craving for buffalo wild wings like every day! It was disgusting!

Recently, I've been onto Nachos for some reason!

Now if only I could get onto like apples or something good for you!

You got that right. LOL ...I used to make Lasagna (used to being the operative word here...LOL) and yes, I was desperate and having to kill the craving. It was good. I can't remember what brand it was, it was in an orange box.

Buffalo wings (spicy please) seems to be the craving lately. I had it twice this week.

When I was pregnant with my first daughter I craved Hot things, no matter what it was. I would get Jalapeno’s and cut them up on sandwiches. I would get hot pickles and chips. Mexican food was a weekly thing at my house

When I was pregnant with my second daughter I craved chili cheese dogs, I ate them about 3 times a week. And I also craved cheese, I would put it on just about anything. And since then I can't even look at a hotdog without getting sick to my stomach. Last month I tried to eat a chili dog and I started to gag. Just the thought makes me nauseous.

I had an oatmeal fix not too long ago. I couldn't get enough, now, eh.

I've had an on again, off again, fixation with the candy, Starburst. Last year, during one of the on phases, the candy yanked out an old filling. No more of those, lol.
