Default Art & Lucy?

I read that Lucille Ball refused to appear in the 1967 big-screen feature A Guide for the Married Man unless Art agreed to costar with her.
Has anyone ever seen this? It sounds like it would be great with 2 of the best in the business.

This is the first time I'm hearing about that. I agree, it would have been great to see them both in the same movie. What was the plot about?

I've never seen this but I know of two other TV specials Lucy did with Art: "Happy Anniversary And Goodbye" (10/19/74) and "What Now Catherine Curtis?" (3/30/76). She also did a special with Gleason called "Three For Two" on 12/3/75 and Gleason once made a cameo appearance on an episode of Here's Lucy as a bus driver named Kramden. Boy, could you imagine a Honeymooners/I Love Lucy special? How sweet it would've been.

Wow Lucy even worked with Dean Martin! Lucky lady to have been surrounded with Art & Dean! I never knew about Jackie making an appearance on her show...that's something I'll have to check out.

A Guide For The Married Man is available on DVD, or was anyway. Check Amazon, if you can't get it there you can't get it anywhere. Also, check out the 24 episode Best Of Here's Lucy set for the Kramden appearance.

Don't forget that on the 1977 Christmas reunion special with Gale Gordon, he mentioned something too Ralph about his screwball secretary named Lucy.

Lucy starred with Dean Martin in "Lucy Gets Lucky", a TV movie. The "Here's Lucy" episode (Lucy Meets Jack Benny) with Ralph Kramden's cameo is on this set:

Here's a bit of trivia. I used to have a copy of a draft of the script of that episode. The Ralph Kramden bit was not even in the script, so after watching how surprised Lucy and the rest of the cast were when he came out, it leads me to believe that it was a surprise.

It's on "Here's Lucy", one of Lucy's other series. You can get it at amazon.com.

Oh I can't wait to see that! It's to bad Lucy never made a guest appearance on The Honeymooners that would have been great.

I just found out that Lucy worked with Audrey Meadows too! In an episode of Life With Lucy called "Mother of the Bride," she appeared as Lucy's sister, Audrey Barker. Also, I found this bit of info at Wikipedia:
Quote:
The last episode to be aired, "Mother of the Bride", featured Audrey Meadows, who was going to be cast as a regular to give the show a new direction and Lucille's character someone else to play off of.
Very interesting...
