Should people ever announce their own Birthday? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I was waiting for the elevator in my building and I heard some guy in the lobby telling 2 or 3 people-"Today is my Birthday" Is that a little strange?-lol

I never announce my birthday, I don't have to, people either know it or they don't.

Personally, I don't do stuff like that. I think it makes you seem like you want the attention brought onto yourself. I'd rather go to work and not say anything and just celebrate with family and friends.

None of my co-workers never know my birthday because I always put in for that DAY-lol

Unless somebody knows it is my birthday and wishes me a happy day, I won't go out of my way to say, "guess what today is?" lol

When someone says "Guess what today is?" you should say, "Today is the day you're going to nag me to death."

I don't need to announce it to my co-workers. Everybody gets a small party during the month of their birthday. Like Solomon, I like to take that day off anyway.

I think it is just weird. My friends at work know when my birthday is. Other than that it is no ones business. Unfortunately if my birthday falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday I am at work.

once you get past 18, the only bithday I could see soemone telling people about would be 21. Otherwise, it seems childish for adults acting like that.
