"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is a big Star Trek fan. He managed to get a cameo on two episodes of Star Trek Enterprise as an engine room crewman, which he was very psyched about.

I just read that Jason Alexander, Kelsey Grammer, Kurtwood Smith and Tom Hanks are all trekys too.
(in fact, Jonathen Frakes quizzed Tom Hanks once on his knowledge of it-Toms knowledge-and he was AMAZED at everything he knew about it!! |

most of the people who guest-starred on it over the years are trekys-Kurtwood Smith, Jason Alexander, Kelsey Grammer are just some.
The only cast member who's also one, that I know of; is Tim Russ. |

I just found out that Robin Williams and Quentin Tarranteno also are.
Ditto Dwight Schultz (Lt. Barclay on Next Gen. and 3 or 4 VOYAGER eps.) |

also, I think Lucille Ball was. I know that she was respnsible for getting it on the air. The first season was filmed at her studio; Desilu. And when the pilot was screened for a handful of executives, including her (she owned the studio, for those who don't know) noone wanted to "pick it up" as they didn't like it. But she did since she liked science fiction; so she told the studio to "go with it". And; since she was in charge, noone wanted to argue with her.
Also, at the start of filming on the first episode; she wished them good luck with it! |
