More Black Men Are In Prison Than In The Workforce - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I was listening to this old Geto Boys rap music tape and there was this black dude prisoner on there talking at the end of Geto Boys And Girls song. He was saying that he's been locked up for 23 years and that there's 37% of black men that are locked up and blacks only make up 12% of the population. Isn't that terrible? That song came out in 1996 so i'm assuming that the percentage of black men locked up right now is worse. Why is it that so many ignorant black men would rather turn to a life of crime than get a job? Why is it that ignorant black men don't wanna go to school but they'll read books when they're locked up? LOL. Sad sad sad.

What about the fact that conviction rates for blacks are over twice the rate of conviction rates for whites for the same crime? The fact of the matter is a black person and a white person can commit the exact same offense and the white person will more likely be aquitted, serve probation, etc. while the black person is more likely to serve time in jail.

Same for me

I think "Isiah" has a problem with black people. Most of his threads he start are bashing black people, I think that he has some personal issuses that he has to work on.

I'm starting to agree with you. I feel bad for him though. But he needs to understand something...

Here's my story a little taste...

My father is black/brazilian and he was a rich man(see Isiah, not all bad black people are from the ghetto) now he's in jail. Reason? Not for turning to a life of crime, in fact he graduated with honors at Yale in 1970. But he killed someone, my mother. You see he wasn't the 'typical' black man that isiah is talking about. The whole point i'm making is never judge someone because they are from the ghetto or so called street. Sometimes these white collar guys are just as horrible or worse

Exactly. I mean, how many threads abt bashing your own race can you keep making with anyone taking you seriously? It has gotten real old and tired.

I mean I feel really bad for him. Something must have happened along the way. But this kind of message board isn't the place to do it. And all of the days to do it on MLK Jr. day.

Didn't Cleveland have a problem with many blacks? Did you ever address this issue with the city hall meetings?

Montreal always had a problem with white biker gangs that ran prostitution rings and illegal drugs in the city. I have always addressed this issue to Montreal's city council by email to see if they can stop the problem. I don't see why complaining to Sitcoms-on-line posters could change this problem you experience.

Well I'm not going to let it happen in Philly, I'm currently working with single fathers been in prison so they can be better fathers for their children.

Yeah I have actually started liking my job and want these men to succeed. I think I will do this for 2 -3 more Years
