...ah what's the use, they'll just be posted on youtube the SECOND I finish typing this...oh well...best answer anyway. I need some names and details on what happend...or even what you think happened.
All these cases are from the first three or four seasons, I think. First Case: I've only seen it once, about three years ago when it shown on the (then) Prime Network in Canada. A teenager was discovered, dead, at the wheel of a car (not his?) in an abandoned garage somewhere in Chicago I believe. I think this case (the discovery of the car) happened sometime from 1988 to 1990. The police seemed to have VERY little to go on. Second Case: Okay, this one is going to sound real unbelievable, and incredible. Someone running for office in some state (Michigan, perhaps. And no it's not Huey Long). He's at a gathering somewhere, and then he is shot to death (once) as he is leaving the building. The bullet passes right through his skull and bounces off the wall of the building across the street. The bullet is recovered and then...get this...it is discovered that it has been tampered with! All the makings of an inside job, as Stack says. The prime suspect in this case, a police officer, WAS seen at the gathering on the night of the murder. And he did have access to the evidence in this case. He declined to appear on camera, saying "I didn't do anything wrong". Ironic that he was fired, or resigned about two years later. Next is the bank robbers, that appeared to include Kathleen Anne Power. Now she did turn herself in to the authorities in 1992, but I would like to know, what movement group was she a part off? And what happened to the others involved? My understanding was that all of them were caught, except for Kathleen, when it was broadcast. Who was the officer who was killed at the scene of the crime? Do they know who actually pulled the trigger? This case featured one of the most memorable quote (for me, anyway) from Unsolved Mysteries, "I hoped that he had just tripped, but I knew deep down that he was dead". Case number four: A woman from Milwakee boards a train in 1910 and dissappears. Now a missing person from 1910? Ultimately, it was more of a what happened to her case. This, was from 1990, or 1991. I remember thinking, even then, that there is no way to solve this case. Still, I would like to know the names and the circumstances. Five: A treause hunt, sort of. Someone walks out of the desert, desperately in need of water. When he recovers, he talks about the location of a hidden treasure. He doesn't provide enough details to go on, but still, he seems to be the only person who knows where it is hidden. A few years later he dies. What I remember about this case is that he is always seen with a backpack. The case happened in the late 19th century or early 20th century |

Wow, lots of questions to answer. Here goes:
The first one is Chad Mauer. I don't think there was ever anyone arrested. There were rumors that it could have involved drugs but no solid info on that. Second one is Jay Givens. I believe it happened in Chicago. Yes very strange that he was shot at a gathering with hundreds of people yet no one seemed to know anything. I believe there was a policeman who was a suspect that refused to take a polygraph. Kathy Powers was a member of the SLA (Symbionese Liberation Army) and the police officer killed in the robbery was Walter Schroeder. I believe the others were involved were all captured long before Powers and were given prison sentences. The next segment involves Conradina Olsen. She has been missing for I believe 60 years and her adult granddaughter is searching for what happened to her. The stories her father told her was that Conradina left her family suddenly (she was supposed to leave by train) and the granddaughter now wonders if maybe her grandfather could have murdered her grandmother. She did find out that an unidentifed woman's remains were found around the time Conradina went missing (she had been found murdered after seen arguing with a man) and there is a grave marking near there. She wonders if this grave could be her grandmother's. I could be mistaken but the last segment you inquired about sounds like Lost Dutchmans' Mine. |
