Default Question Regarding Segment

I remember an episode that aired here in Australia back in 1997 called Unsolved Mysteries Ghosts Special. The first segment featured a police officer who found an abandoned car on a highway one night, he stopped to investigate and found bits an pieces. That night, while asleep in bed, he was woken by the ghost of the woman who owned the car standing at the foot of the bed. The woman was believed to have been missing. Can anybody shed any light to this segment??

Hmmmm.... that case sounds awfully familiar.

There was a segment that interviewed a psychic. I'm forgetting some of the names but he had awoken one night to see the ghost of a woman staring at him. He ended up working her case. She was kidnapped and murdered one night after being lured out on a country road delivering pizzas. The psychic tracked down her killer but after he introduced himself, the killer committed suicide...so the girls body was never found.

I have the segment on tape and I can upload it to YouTube.

That sounds like it could be it actually. I only remember it vaguely, it did air back in 1997, and i was around 12 at the time. That story scared the crap out of me.

I do remember that the officer did work on her case. But that's all I remember. If you could upload it on YouTube, that would be awesome.

dynoguy88, that's the one i was talking about!!! Thanks for posting it on YouTube.

Anyways, here's a recap of the story.

On 4th July 1982, in Salem, Oregon, at around 10pm, Police discover an abandoned car on a remote highway just outside of town. The driver was missing, the engine was still running, and pizzas were scattered all over the ground. It is believed that the victim was to make a delivery to an address that didnt exist. The car is later found to belong to 18 year old Sherry Eyerly.

A month later, in Dallas Texas, John Catchings, a psychic, is awoken at 3am to find a ghost of a young, attractive woman standing at the foot of his bed. 4 days later, Catchings receives a package from Salem Oregon regarding a missing persons case. Inside is a picture of the girl he saw a few nights earlier. As his wife was reading the details of the case, he began visualising a white house, with the door open with stairs just inside the door. As he visualised the house, he also visioned pillars or posts over the house seemingly superimposed over the house.

Catchings soon went to Oregon and was taken to the site where the car was found. He begins to envision a girl driving along the road looking for the address. He then visualises a pickup truck coming in the oncoming direction. The truck slows down and stops and the driver says he is the one who ordered the pizza. As he envisions the girl getting out and getting the pizzas, the driver grabs the girl and takes her into the pickup truck. Catchings then asked if anybody in the area had a green pickup truck. The officer began reading names of the owners. When the officer mentioned the name Darryl J. Wilson, the psychic mentioned that they need to find out more about him, as he interested Catchings.

Wilson became a suspect when an individual told police that he had painted his green pickup truck 8 days after Sherry disappeared. It was also found that Wilson was an aquaintance of Sherry's, and that he also knew another girl that had disappeared at around the same time.

Catchings asked the officers to take him to Wilson's house. Oddly, The house was the same house he had envisioned back in Dallas. Catchings was told that he didnt actually live in the house but rather lived at an apartment behind the house. The apartment was supported by pillars. Daryll was standing outside. Daryll was asked if he would take a polygraph test, Daryll refused, but oddly, he mentioned that he would talk to a psychic.

2 hours later, emergency services were called to the Wilson house. Daryll Wilson had taken his own life.

Thanx again for posting the clip. That one is a personal favourite.

You're welcome. I was pretty sure that was the segment you were talking about. The only down side to the end of that case is that Sharry's body was never found. The scum that killed her never revealed anything before he killed himself. So her family is left without a body to bury. You have to feel for them.

One question.

The vision the psychic had of the girl in his room, was that an actual thing that happened? Or was that just another vision like the one he had of the white house?

As I recently viewed the segment.......I took that as something that actually happened to the guy (Catchings).

One thing I'm curious about though........was her body every found, or did Daryl Wilson's suicide put up a roadblock that authorities haven't been able to break?

No she was never found and although he is deceased he is still the main suspect in her disappearance:

I love this story. I think its weird how everything seemingly fell into place with the psychic, and he knew who he was looking for.

Other stories which I have seen in the past but don't know much about includes:

*One morning, a female bank attendant arrives to work to find that the front door is unlocked, when she is sure that it was locked when she left. She goes in and finds that the bank has been robbed.

*The Frederick Valentich Disappearance - In 1978, Valentich is flying from Melbourne, Australia to Tasmania when he disappears while flying over the Bass Strait, before his disappearance, he claims to have seen an object hovering above him, and that it was not an aircraft. His body or the plane have never been found.

*The Virgin Mary appears to a young woman at a church in Bosnia/Croatia (forget which one) in 1981.

*There was a segment regarding 2 twins who didnt know that the other twin existed. One day, the first twin pulls into a petrol station and fills up, pays and leaves. As he leaves, the other twin co-incidentally shows up, fills up and goes to the counter, the man at the counter tells him that he's already paid but the other twin insists that he has never been in the service station before and didn't know what he was talking about. If i remember correctly, the 2 twins had almost run into each other by chance on more than 1 occasion.

* A couple adopts a young girl. However, unbeknownst to the girl, her biological parents are the couple that works at the local restaurant where her adoptive parents take her every week. If i remember correctly, it was part of an arrangement that allowed the biological parents to still see their daughter. I believe the adoptive parents moved away from the town and her biological parents were looking for her.

* Tina Resch Poltergeist - The girl that was being stalked by a poltergeist. She was photographed by a journalist as a telephone flew past her. It took place around 1984.
