i was wondering what does "spin-offs" mean sure i know what one year wonders are but i don't know what spin offes mean

A spinoff is a show in which one or more of the lead characters were orignally characters on another show.
Examples of this would be the Jeffersons who orignially appeaed on All in the Family Also Laverne and Shirley who orignally appeared on Happy Days. Frasier would be a recent example of this as the character orignally appeared on Cheers.
