This show was a mid-season replacement after RUN BUDDY RUN! got axed. I thoroughly enjoyed
Mr. Terrific and I remember being very disappointed in Sept. '67 when it didn't come back on. It has a great theme song, although it's the instrumental ending that I dig the best! Groovy! Oh, please don't assume that Canada at the time got the same shows as USA. I don't know what Canadians were watching in the '60s, cuz I was living in the States, then. Bye! |

I'm glad to see that someone else remembers Mr. Terrific! This show, along with "Captain Nice" (which also aired during the 1966 season, then got cancelled) were created as parodies of "Batman". I remember character actor John McGiver played an official from the governemnt agency that supervised Mr. Terrific's activities. McGiver's tag line on the show was "It's time for action....A-C-T-I-O-N.....action!". Great show!

Well, I had to go back three years to find a thread that was solely devoted to Mr. Terrific, but I found one.
Okay, this was not a great show. I'm sure even Stephen Strimpell would back me up on that. Nevertheless it was my favorite childhood series, and I still love watching the few episodes I've managed to get my hands on. I must agree, Mr. Terrific did have a truly great theme song. Besides that I think that Strimpell did some wonderful things with his characterization of Stanley Beamish and in the physicality of his Mr. Terrific persona. The faces he made during the transformation sequences and the subtle flexing of his muscles when his power was on are priceless. If only the show had gotten some really funny scripts. Still, I hope that the next time any of you petition TVLand to run any favorite old series or contact Universal in hopes of getting some lost classic onto DVD you'll remember Mr. Terrific. Like so many others, it's worth a second look. |

Hello everybody,
It's good to see there are more people around who like/remember Mr. Terrific. About two years ago I discovered Mr. Terrific when it aired again over here (in Germany). I must admit that it is one of my favorite tv shows now. I like it so much because it is so silly, and watching the show always cheers me up. Yes, it would be nice to have Mr. Terrific on DVD. It seems rather unlikely though, since I have asked Universal about a DVD release, but they don't seem to be interested in getting this show released. What a pity, after all there's only 17 episodes (that would make a nice box set). Anyway, thanks for reading. |

Wait a minute. Are you saying Mr. Terrific still airs in Germany?
Yes, it would be great to get the show on DVD, but some of us here in the states are dying to see it in any format. If there's any chance you can get the eps on VHS tape, I'm sure we can more than make it worth your while. |

Besides the unaired pilot and THE PILL CAPER movie, the only episodes around are "STANLEY THE SAFECRACKER" and "MATCHLESS." Both were shown by TV LAND eons ago. We are all champing at the bit for more eps to crop up.
