"The Comedy Store"/Mryles Plantation" Ghost Segements?

I am curious are both of these places still open & running, and when were these aired?

The Comedy Store is still operating. I believe it's owned by the Shore family, and Pauly Shore recently had a reality TV show called "Minding the Store." In fact, he was just on the radio this morning talking about The Comedy Store... and he's said it's been in operation since 1972.

Oh cool many thanks. I looked up Myrtles Plantation, and I found out they they are still running. I e-mailed them, and asked how much it cost to say there. I think it would be fun to stay there. Does anyone know when the Myrtles Plantation segment aired?

Joe Nickell is an absolute flaming idiot. One of my dearest wishes is to see some skeptic prove HE doesn't exist, and watch him disappear in a puff of evil-smelling smoke.

The Myrtles was bought by its current owners strictly for its hotel value. They have been a bit dismayed and disgusted at its haunted reputation and popularity, and the staff is rude. One thing very interesting, about the "little girl" seen jumping on beds. Two children died in the cake poisoning incident. The boy was four and the girl was only two. Without having seen pictures of them (if there ever were any), I submit that back then boys wore long curls and long white nightgowns, so the little boy may well be the bed jumper. (Strangely enough, metal bedsprings were not invented until about forty years after this incident, so I wonder how much spring a kid could get out of a bed back then anyway.)

I know that this is an old post, but I just watched that episode the other day so I thought that I would answer some of this.

The Myrtles Plantation owners don't really see too upset about the legend at this time. Take a look at the website http://www.myrtlesplantation.com/and you will see what I mean.

There was also a book written by one of the previous owners that is available on amazon and its really, really interesting. I read it a year ago and really enjoyed it. The tv show "Ghost Hunters" went there last year and had some interesting experiences there too.

ok call me crazy but i went to myrtles a few yrs ago & i'm pretty convinced that i captured one of the boys in this pic, some can see it, some can't. it looks i.m.o. like one of them, wearing the nightgown,pointing w/ his right arm, facing the left. anyone else see this???

The thing I find interesting about this is that it is very similar to other reports that people have made of seeing a similar image. If you haven't seen the Ghost Hunters episode at the Myrtles, I would highly suggest you see it.

thanks cori and ksm for the feedback. i have seen the ghost hunters episode, they came away with some good evidence. it would be great if they'd go back to capture more. aside from the pic, i also had something else unusual happen at myrtles. my camera seemingly disappeared out of my pocket and reappeared in another part of the house. i know this is physically impossible but it happened, or at least I thought it did. so my trip there was a memorable one. i've known other people to visit and nothing happened, so i'm pretty lucky if you can call it that.

I live only about 3 to 3.5 hours away from the Myrtles Plantation. My g/f has been wanting to go stay the night, but this is also the same g/f that went through the "set up" haunted house in Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly with me a few weeks ago and freaked out so bad she almost didn't make it through.

I would like to at least go visit if we didn't end up staying the night just to check it out.

I have to admit that I take the chance to stay at or visit places that are said to be "haunted". I just think it is interesting and most places that claim to be haunted have a sense of history to them. My husband and I stayed at a "haunted" hotel in MN last year and we enjoyed it so much that we are planning another trip in Jan. I guess you were lucky not only to have some interesting experiences, but to visit such a beautiful place.

I would give it a shot. My husband puts up with my ghost hobby and he actually seems to enjoy it. Maybe she will be calmer in this situation. I worked at a "Haunted House" and know the secrets and yet I still don't like going through them. On the other hand, I have had some really strange stuff happen in places that really were said to be haunted and I didn't get freaked out.
