I shouldnt be online at this hour, but reflecting back on this show and these message boards....
for you old fans and newer fans, how did you find out about this show back in the day? were you a lifetime channel regular, or did you get into the lifetime channel when you became a fan of Division? and... did you stay on these boards till the very end of the series or did you give up the series before it got canceled? how often do you come on here today? ok I"ll start how did you find out about this show back in the day? well, I'm trying to remember how I got into the show. I think ultimately, since I was into Lifetime Channel movies and their biography show... The Division's hyped up ads back during season 1, interested me enough to catch an episode, and ultimately I became interested in the unstable Jinny character and learned that Nancy Mckeon was the actress, and then became a fan of her through The Division and shortly started catching episodes of Facts of Life, back in the day when it came on I believe either TV land or NIck at Nite. sorry for the long response were you a lifetime channel regular, or did you get into the lifetime channel when you became a fan of Division? I believe I would of considered myself an odd nut over Lifetime, though these days I consider their films cheesy and overdramatic LOL... I guess I grew up. and... did you stay on these boards till the very end of the series or did you give up the series before it got canceled? I actually surprisingly too busy for The Division ultimately during my Frosh year sadly... I think either than was the start of the 3rd season(2003 jan) or that was still the 2nd season...... maybe still the 2nd season, but I found myself completely distracted and uninterested in the series once Jinny overcame her addiction to drugs and became sober and pregnant I believe.... so yeah, I guess the whole college thing was a part of it. how often do you come on here today? I was near absent from these message boards for 2 years until I started peeking in once every couple of months starting in late 2006. Its interesting to see the old regulars still checking in here. The Division at its peak on sunday nights man that excited me way too much LOL I believe to this day, that was the last tv drama I really followed and then I began an interest in old classic films..... now that I'm a college graduate its nice to look back here and remember all those fond memories of talking about the new episodes |

She is like my mentor and my lifetime goal is to one day meet her and tell her that she saved my life. If it weren't for Nancy, I don't know where I'd be today. She has touched so many lives, I'm one of them. Nancy made me realize that life's worth living, and to not give up on mine... no matter how angry I get. ![]() http://web.ukonline.co.uk/classic.js...urn/kate01.jpg Katharine Hepburn #1 greatest woman actress of all time 1907-2003 AIM: PhoenixMcKeon or email me at PhoenixMcKeon@aol.com Visit my Site Celine's 90210/Division Fan Fic Site

Hmmm...let me see, it has been a while. I first was drawn into The Division from the fact that Nancy McKeon was starring in it. I discovered my love for her acting talents through The Facts of Life when it started airing on Nick at Nite back in 2000? I already watched Lifetime for the gripping movies and that's when I saw Nancy in Love, Honor and Obey:The Last Mafia Marriage on one dreary Saturday afternoon. Then in 2001, Lifetime premiered The Division and I just thought it couldn't get any better! Nancy's character, Jinny Exstead was a perfect fit for her. Wow! She blew me away with her acting, god i even cried during her really tense and emotional scenes ( especially during the episode "Intervention"). I guess you could say I was obsessed with The Division...lol every sunday at 9pm, that was my personal time with Nancy! haha I also loved her and Magda's (Lisa Vidal) chemistry as best friends and partners. In a way it reminded me of the bond between Jo and Blair. Just like in The Facts of Life, Nancy got alot of good one-liners and quotes, which was completely awesome. I know its kinda of bad to say, but I hated when Jinny got sober. I really enjoyed her drunken trysts. (just my opinion, lol) But then Jinny's unexpected addiction to Oxycontin was something that made the show interesting again. It just couldn't believe the level of acting it took to play someone on Oxycontin. I honestly think that if The Division was on HBO or Showtime (freer to use more graphic language and situations) it would have garnered Nancy McKeon at least an Emmy nomination or even a win! Also I was confused as to why the writers of The Division chose to kill off C.D. That ruined the dynamic of the show and that's probably one of the reasons why it was cancelled after the 4th season. It's just sad not seeing Nancy on screen every sunday. I really enjoy her acting, it's just so moving, i love her for it.
Actually I joined the sitcomsonline boards because they have a great Facts of Life board(and yes I absolutely love that show especially Lisa Whelchel as "Blair"), and then I saw they had a Division board as well. I haven't gotten a chance to post as much as i would like to... but I do visit very often to read what people have posted. It's kind of hard to post several times a day (due to the fact I'm in my second year of college...yay ) and be caught up with the topics. One thing I must point out...sorry if I'm being long-winded here. I want to make a comment about what Debra Joy Levine (executive producer) said about possibly having at least ONE gay character on The Division. I'm paraphrasing but she stated " I would have liked to make one of the characters on the show gay". But being that The Division is on Lifetime (it's somewhat conservative) having a gay character might cause a tiff of some sort. Anyway, if they were going to make one character gay, it should have been Jinny (in my opinion, you don't have to agree). I just think it would have been very interesting for her to cope with her feelings of being a lesbian (closeted, of course...lots of possible story lines) and using alcohol to forget her angst. It's kinda funny that Magda (Lisa Vidal) played a lesbian firefighter on "ER". The whole Jinny and Magda closeness could have been played up alot more. Even some close calls between them would have opened the show to alot more audiences. lol I don't know if I'm crazy and overanalyzing or what have you but sometimes they look into each others' eyes and that kept me wondering at first.Anyway, I greatly enjoy Nancy's work...(Comfort and Joy is now a Christmas favorite at my house) and I hope Nancy does more in the future. I could just cross my fingers for her to take another challenging role...wouldn't a guest spot on the L Word send us all over the edge?!? hahaha Although she won't admit it, she's keeping the spirt of "Jo Polniaczek" alive in the tough roles she takes...come on...Jinny Exstead! i love it. and I love Nancy McKeon!!!!!!!!!!

how did you find out about this show back in the day?
were you a lifetime channel regular, or did you get into the lifetime channel when you became a fan of Division? and... did you stay on these boards till the very end of the series or did you give up the series before it got canceled? how often do you come on here today? I was a fan of Facts of Life from the first time they were on. So I was a Nancy Fan for many many years. I found by watching lifetime that Nancy was going to be in a new series and checking out the internet I found out more details. I watched lifetime on a regular basis every evening when a good movie was on and on the weekends I usually left it ion lifetime. I actually have this page set as my home page so I see it every time I open up Internet Explorer. I was here to the end and still am here. I didn't give up on the show either. I would have preferred Jinny ending up with Teddy though. I wasn't a big fan of Hank (jmo). |

how did you find out about this show back in the day?
i used to watch lifetime all the time back in the day. i was watching lifetime one day and i saw the scenes for the division. i had seen nancy in the facts of life and other lifetime movies and recognized her on the clip. i knew i had to watch it that sunday night. and i got hooked on it after that. were you a lifetime channel regular, or did you get into the lifetime channel when you became a fan of Division? i was a lifetime regular before i saw the division. and... did you stay on these boards till the very end of the series or did you give up the series before it got canceled? i wasn't on here posting during the first season of the division. but once i joined, i stayed until the very end. i miss how the boards would be full of threads after every new episode and how everyone would critique the episodes. those were some good times. how often do you come on here today? not often at all. maybe once a month or so. i was just reading through some of the old threads on here & felt like responding to this one.

Nancy drew me to the show of course. I am her #1 fan(corny as it may sound) and she has influenced my life in so many ways and i know that one day i will meet her and be able to tell her how she has made me who i am today. Ive already met Lisa Whelchel and that was a life changing experience so i cant even imagine how wonderful it will be when i meet Nancy. I cant wait. It will for sure be the best thing that happens to me in my entire life. While The Division was on the air, lifetime sent me a bunch of cool things like a division beach ball.lol, a bunch of 8x10 promo pics, press releases, cast bios, and stuff like that. It was very exciting. I like the entire cast though.

Last reply was in 2008... erm. Well, better late than never, I suppose
How did you find out about this show back in the day? Wow, it's been so long I can't even remember. Probably from one of my other NMK-obsessed friends or the boards in general. I'm almost ashamed to admit I actually missed the first couple episodes before I became a regular viewer :3 Were you a Lifetime channel regular, or did you get into the Lifetime channel when you became a fan of The Division? I was pretty much a regular, but mostly for the movies. I did get into Strong Medicine after a while, but I wasn't quite as meticulous about my viewing habits for that as I was for TD ![]() And... did you stay on these boards till the very end of the series or did you give up the series before it got canceled? Hm... if memory serves I was unaware they were even canceling it at the time. The last episode I remember watching had Kim Fields in it... whether or not that was the last one is beyond me - and I'm sure somebody will know the exact episode and name of said episode that I'm talking about So... I'm pretty sure I didn't stick around on the boards. I was also involved in a lot of drama way back when... not so much me personally, but friends and non-friends were fighting, people were getting banned... very crazy time. By the time all that ended I was [probably] on my way to the Buffy obsession and creating art for my then website, Poisoned Kiss (Videos)How often do you come on here today? Well, I literally just signed back up so what does that tell you? :P No, I've come back from time to time posting things here and there, but so many of the fans have moved on or just disappeared completely it's hard to stick around. I still have a love for all things Nancy - the fact that I'm even posting here and have come back several times throughout the years can tell you that - and I have a love for nostalgia that just will not go away. So to answer the question? Not often, but I'm hoping to change that... even if I'm one of the few that still visits their first home
