Hmmm. Sure hope all of our outspoken human right people and the ACLU step up on this one. Oh wait...they were English speaking kids trying to get on the bus. Nevermind.

"St. Paul schools spokeswoman Dayna Kennedy acknowledged Thursday that school officials handled the situation poorly, but said the reason Armstrong's children were ineligible to ride the bus was because they lived outside the school's attendance area - not because they spoke English."

This arguement would make sense if they had not already been picking up the kids and dropping them off at a set point. Unless the bus was going way out of its way to get them BUT if the bus goes further to pick up ESL students, why not let them hitch a ride?

Well, it states that the family moved out of the attendance area recently, and the school officials just found out (crappy records at the school?). And, I doubt it would be a big problem if they let them be an exception on the bus, unless there are concerns of running out of space, or something.
