Oh No James Brown STILL NOT BURIED...

THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE IT CLEAR IN WRITING WHERE YOU WANT TO BE BURIED WHEN YOU DIE...

James Brown's Body Still Not Buried
By KATRINA A. GOGGINS
AP
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Jan. 10) - The body of soul singer James Brown has yet to be buried as attorneys and his children work to settle issues surrounding his estate, including where he will be laid to rest.

For now, his body lies in a sealed casket in his home on Beech Island, said Charles Reid, manager of the C.A. Reid Funeral Home in Augusta, Ga., which handled the services.

Brown died of heart failure Dec. 25 at age 73. His will has yet to be filed, said Buddy Dallas, an attorney for the singer.

The room where Brown's body lies is being kept at a controlled temperature, and security guards keep watch, Reid said.

The funeral home delivered Brown's body after services Dec. 30, Reid said.

Brown's home has been locked since hours after his death to protect his memorabilia, furnishing, clothes and other personal items, Dallas said.

There's been a whole bunch of mess happening since James Brown died. Did you see his wife/companion on Larry King Live? She's claiming to be his wife and is not being treated properly by his children and the rest of the family. Apparently, she was blocked from entering their home and assets are frozen until there's its proven she was legally married to him and her son is biologically his. It's been nothing but drama.

I did see that. I felt so bad for her. They may not have been legally married, that doesn't mean he didn't love her. How many people in this country live together without actually being married? James Brown left her $100k in cash for her benefit after he dies. Would he leave that amount of $$$ to her if he didn't love her? I wonder what his Will says?

Also, the latest news is that she may be forced to have DNA tests on her son to prove it is James Brown's child? WTF????

The whole thing is crazy. I think it's sad that the family can't come together which should also include his wife/companion and son. She even talked about how Al Sharpton mistreated her. Did you watch the funeral on CNN?

I recently went through this when my girlfriend father passed away last year. Huge fight over where the body went, cremated or not, etc.. It ended up the ex wife got the final call becuase even though they were separated for over a year, they still were not divorced.

Wills should be updated every several years especially if there is a change in the family (death of beneficiary, new child born, separation, etc..) It can be a messy and expensive fight, the last thing you want when you are mourning.

Lex you are so right!

My father passed away in 2004, he was a man who put everything in writing, had everything prepared. He had his Wills updated to reflect changes (codicils) he had a Living Trust (totally different than a Will) and he made his burial preparations in advance. All we had to do was sign documents and pick his clothes he was to be buried in. Thank you Dad for sparing us the aggravation that surely would have ensued had you died WITHOUT A WILL. Still, that doesn't mean there were no arguments from his wife. Which is why my dad made sure in his Will he stipulated that ANYONE WHO SHOULD MAKE ANY ARGUMENTS OR TRY TO MAKE CHANGES ABT MY WISHES WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING! She was not happy abt receiving only $150,000.00...scheming witch.

We had the same issue but in this case the scheming witch won. She was still the legal wife. She got everything and the kids who spent a year caring for him while he was ill got nothing ($10,000 each, she got the house, property, RRSPS and insurance), meanwhile she was off in Germany with another man filing for divorce (unfortunately did not go through fast enough).

ALWAYS have an updated will if you want your property to go to the right people because if you don't then the money diggers always seem to pull the right strings.

She is very ungrateful. Too bad she has gone through most of it already.

And also, WHEN you want to be buried... like, within a couple of days, maybe!

The whole situation is ludicrous. I can see what is going on..."No, daddy wanted to be buried here." "No, daddy would have wanted to be buried here." "I want daddy HERE." blah blah blah. Meanwhile, Daddy is rotting away. Can't blame his "spouse" for this, since the family has shunned her and she apparently has no voice in this at all.

Yup, the family didn't even acknowledge her during the funeral services. The CNN news anchor said she was booed while singing and when she was at visiting the casket.

Default Brown's Wife Left Out of Soul Man's Will

HOLLYWOOD - James Brown's widow and five-year-old son have been cut out of the soul legend's will, fuelling reports his marriage wasn't legal and the boy isn't his biological son.

Tomi Rae Hynie has been fighting the allegations since her husband died on Christmas Day, after Brown's family attorneys claimed the Godfather of Soul told them of his suspicions before he died.

The soul star's biological children even attempted to cut Hynie and her son out of their father's funeral plans last month, suggesting the marriage was a sham.

An emotional Hynie, who was in rehab addressing her painkiller addiction when Brown died, has gone public on various news shows declaring her marriage was legal and Brown is the father of her son James Brown II.

She even told talk-show host Larry King that Brown had instructed her to withdraw $80,000 from a trust fund he had set up for her son upon his passing. But now it looks like that's all she'll be getting.

Hynie's attorney, Robert Rosen, reveals Hynie was not at the will reading in South Carolina yesterday, and she will contest it.

What is sad in this whole story, is that little boy. Regardless of what James may have speculated or thought, regardless if that little boy is indeed his biological son or not, that little boy is the one who will suffer, because in his heart and mind, JAMES BROWN was his father. Love has no DNA, love has no blood match, love sees no barrier. If James Brown had any inkling of deception on behalf of his girlfriend, he should have said something to HER BEFORE, not via an omission in a Will.

I am really furious at the family for allowing a spectacle to take place at that funeral. Regardless of how they felt abt her, if there is anywhere RESPECT should be shown, it's at a funeral. The family members who allowed this should be ashamed of themselves.
