I can't stand that. It irks the you know what outta me. When I worked for this one attorney, she had this habit of hanging over my shoulder, with her head lowered to my shoulder and "quietly" reading to herself what I was typing on screen. It really annoyed me because I could hear her repeating what I was typing. She did this when she was in a hurry and needed a document immediately for court.
Also, my boyfriend, he will stand there behind me at times when I am doing work for him and I hate it. He will start asking me questions abt "Why are you putting that there?" "What does that mean?" Blah blah blah. The only time it doesn't bother me is when I am doing some work for a client and I need their immediate input, and usually, they aren't scrutinizing and asking a bajillion questions. I know what I am doing and I don't need people over my shoulder scrutinizing my work. |

Yes, I get easily annoyed with people leaning over my shoulder. I especially have one older co-worker who's like Hitleress-style and "follows everything by the rules" type of a person. When an instructor or student asks us for help or assistnace on getting something done, I hate when this particular co-worker is within listening distance. She will then follow me or even see what I am doing or how I am doing it. She's a person who easily criticizes on how things get done (she's even done it with our boss), so it annoys me and even makes me twice as nervous while she's around doing that.

Yeah, that definitely annoys me!
I go on forums, not to mention my private online blogs, and I'd really hate if one of them became known to someone in my family.

The first year and a half I was on SO I practically lived like that! My brother had to see everything I posted. He wanted to make sure I didn't post any personal information, or Gasp! heaven forbid... misspell a word!!!!!!!!!!
It was annoying. |

My mother, father and brother do it and it irks me so much. I don't mind if they take a quick glance but when they stand there for a long time I just feel like screaming "Will you go away and mind your business"

When I lived at home, my mom used to do that to me and it drove me nuts! I really can't stand it when people look over my shoulder. I feel like it's my busines, and when it concerns you I will let you know. |

That drives me nuts too. Why can't people mind their own business?
It also drives me nuts when I'm on the phone and my mom is standing there listening and making comments about my conversation.

My dad will come in here to "fix the curtains" or he is "looking for something" be he's checking to see what I'm doing. Just making sure I'm not looking at porn or whatever.

Ugh... I hate that. My dad is really bad about it, and he makes no secret that he glances over. It's annoying.

I get annoyed with that as well. Especially when they (teacher, parent, etc.) breathe down your neck. Very irritating.

I haven't had that problem in a LONG time, fortunately. But, I understand where you guys are coming from. I have that problem a lot at school and other such places. Especially at the school (the one where I graduated HS at). OMG... I HATED that. The adults would get really pissed off if they saw me posting at a message board, because they thought I was in a chat room.
![]() My cell phone, on the other hand... Ugh. Sometimes somebody in my family needs to use my phone for whatever reason, like their phone is dead, they don't have a phone or it's an emergency or such. My mom was the last person to use my phone, not that long ago. I have this picture of me with a real good guy friend of mine set as the wallpaper on my phone when I flip it open. My mom started interrograting me like crazy when she saw that picture on my phone ("Does he work? What does he do? Is he good to you? How old is he?" and then the questions get crazier). Uggggghhhhhh.
