Default baby with mysterious illness

can't recall any of the details on this one:

a mother of an infant seeking help finding a diagnosis for her child.

the baby was having trouble with what looked like mini-seizures. the baby couldn't keep its eyes focused. any help with this case would be MUCH appreciated.

sorry i don't have any other details.

Default I think the case you are asking about is one in which...

The baby's name was Ryan Stallings and he suffered from methylmalonic acidemia, commonly referred to in the medical field as "MMA." His mother, Patricia Stallings, was accused of poisoning him and spent time in prison after being convicted under this false charge. You can read much more about this very sad case (which ended somewhat happily when Mrs. Stallings was cleared of these accusations, thanks in no small part to the "Unsolved Mysteries" segment) at this website:

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I believe it was a girl child and the segment was classified as a Medical Mystery. The case didn't have a resolution.

My friend's daughter has a similar condition. It is marked by seizures and stalled development.

Well I think I know which one you're referring to but it was a baby boy. I think he had a sprinkling of red hair. I don't remember any names but it seems like she was adopted (correct me if I'm wrong) and needed to find her birth parents to see if it was genetic. I believe she did locate them and I was glad to hear RS say at the end that the baby was doing much better and the seizures had slowed down a lot or stopped. Sorry the info is so sketchy but I don't think I have this one on tape and Lifetime didn't show it much. Anyone else remember any more specific details, please post.

Crystal Dawn, do you have a recall of what season this story fell into?

I have faith in your freak-ish accurate memory!

Thanks..... Well I did look at the episode guide a little but couldn't find it. I do agree with screenlegal that it was probably an earlier one. If I find out anymore I'll be sure and post it.

But the Pediatrician who handled the care was Dr. Thomas L Cornwall. I don't know if the mystery illness was ever diagnosed?
Thanks Screenlegal6! This is an enormous help!

Jeri Graves did find her birth parents, but they weren't able to provide much help. JJ died in 2000, just short of his tenth birthday. His condition has never been identified.
