what kind of accent do you have?

i have an eastern new england accent. that's the one where the letter R is dropped out of certain words and replaced with an 'ah' sound, or just taken off the end of a word. and i pronounce the letter a with that same ah sound in most words. People can usually tell I am from massachusetts, but someone once thought I was from new york.

i have a friend from new york and other than that we both drop the letter r from some words, i don't see a similarity between our accents.

A question for anyone with a New York or Massachusetts accent, do you pronounce the letter R in words like store, car, park, door, etc?

The best accent in England that I've heard is the East Anglia accent, imo. That's where the New England accent (like mine) came from.

Midwestern accent. I always say I never feel like I have an accent but as soon as I travel to another part of the country, everyone seems to know I am from Michigan.

Midwestern (I live in Ohio), and we drop the "g" from the ends of words.

Northeastern would be the best way to describe mine. A subtle mix of Stamford, CT and Albany, NY.

new york i guess. we say words like "marriage" and "flag" differently.
