Default Was it me or was Charlotte Rae getting slimmer when Season 2-6 took off?

I started it with the first two episodes of Season One. It is kind of interesting as to how much weight she had in both Diff'rent Strokes and the 1st Season of Facts of Life. I am not against heavyset figures, but it is so weird as to watching Rae progress later in the seasons, she seemed to get more slimmer and slimmer with the Jo, Blair, Tootie, and Natalie seasons. I know she still kept a grandmotherly appearance..but was I the only who noticed this?

Of course, now she is back with a few pounds on her, but watching the later years of Mrs. Garrett, it seemed that Mrs. Garrett ate the right food.

I thought Rae looked much younger than she did on Diff'rent Strokes and the 1st Season of Facts of Life. I know she wore wigs on both shows, but she looked younger in the 2nd Season. It might be the wig or the figure.

First you need to give a detailed reason as to why you were checking out Charlotte's rae's body-lol

I thought she looked great when she lost the weight. I am not hitting on her. It is just so weird how much different the actors looked in the beginnnig. Like Louise Jeffersons' wigs in the beginning were horrible and sort of made her looked much older. But as the later years progressed, the wigs made her looked younger and the wig almost looked like her own hair. It is like Marla Gibbs' earlier seasons on The Jeffersons. She looked completely different when she was younger, but as she got older she looked a little better than she did in the early years. I am not saying they were lookers, but it is amazing how you notice how they could change just like that.

*covers eyes*

No no no! She never wore a "wig", I refuse to believe it!

I've always thought that was her real hair...I don't want the magic of Mrs. Garrett ruined for me, lol.

I think however she looks younger in season 1 than in the later years. Her face looks much brighter and younger, whereas in season 2 she looks so much older because the skin of her face is saggier since the weight was lost; hence a "deflated" effect. She was also overall funnier in season 1 because she carried the show.

I love Mrs. Garrett though, and treasure her role on the show, especially in seasons 1-4.
