TV TV Show Conventions

Has anyone here ever been to a convention? Where celebrities sign autographs, etc? I was wondering, does it cost anything? Or what would you have to do? I think I saw on a site you register....

Thanks.

The reason I'm asking is because I read about one that I'd love to go to this coming Fall. And I've never been to one.

I've been to conventions a few times. Usually there's a price to get in the door, and the celebrities also charge a fee for autographs. Twenty dollars for a signed photo is about average.

I've never been to one, but I would in a heartbeat if the opportunity came around. Especially if it were a Roseanne convention. Greatest show, and cast ever!!

I've been to quite a few.
One by TV Land.
And the other is :http://www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com

It was fun to meet celebs like Don Knotts, Joyce DeWitt , Cindy Williams, Pat Priest (Marilyn Munster), Don Adams, James Doohan (Scotty), Mickey Rooney, etc.

Not so fun paying $15 to get in and $10-20 for each photo autographed.

Thanks for the information, everyone. And if anyone has any thing else to add, please don't hesitate to do so.

Oh cool, yes, it would be neat to meet them...^_^.

Yeah, autograph collecting is definitely NOT a cheap hobby.

Hoho.

Yes, the celebs charge money at the big Pasadena Star Trek. There are various other celebs, who charge about $20 per.
In the old days, they'd sign everybody's for free. It was cheaper, too. You could pay $2 per day, get movies, freebies, celebs, and free autographs. It went gradually up, about a dollar per year, until Shatner in SF went to $25 per day --fortunately, they softened the blow by giving us an extra day for free --some of us, anyway!
I think it's all William Shatner's fault. He began demanding payment, so the rest of them, do, too. :
Classic trek stars charge upwards of $50-$100

At the Dark Shadows Fesitival, they sign for free. It will be coming to LA again, this year --I think. It switches from NY to LA on alternate years.

When Star Trek: TNG was very popular, we took our son, who was young at the time, up to San Jose, CA for a ST convention. I don't remember it costing anything to get in. Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) was there but we didn't get to see her. There were some parts of the convention dealing with science, which I think you had to pay to get into. I don't remember all that much, just several characters dressed up like Klingons. We just stayed a little while, walked around and then left. I like TNG, and so I wanted to check it out. It was ok.

That's why I get all my autographs through the mail. I've never had to pay a thing doing it that way.

I've been to a few STAR TREK conventions, but not in a while though. Never got any autographs but it was great seeing some of the stars in person and hearing them speak.
I saw Mirina Stirtis, James Doohan, Gates McFadden, William Shatner, Leanord Nimoy, and Will Wheaton.
