I have a pretty serious problem right now. Last night on these boards there was a pretty bad disagreement between two really good friends of mine which has left them both feeling really bad. And their current state has me really worried. I can't get involved in the disagreement itself because getting between two good friends is never a good idea. Though I pray that they can both work out their problems. They are both good people and do not desrve to feel the way thay are both feeling.

This situation is just the latest chapter in a long line of problems that I have seen happening here at Chit Chat over the last several months. No one seems to be able to be nice to each other anymore. I've noticed threads that have had to be closed or have come close to being closed because they have turned into page after page of people insulting each other. Why can't we all just get along? Why does a site about sitcoms have to be like a soap oprea? Everyone comes here to have a good time, and no one needs all the drama. So can we please just all show each other some mutual respect?

I must admit, I haven't noticed any problems myself. I've seen arguing in some threads, and insults, but I haven't seen too much of it. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

I hope your friends sort things out, though, Mike.

I've seen boards that fight over politics/religion. People are different and they think a few fighting words is going to change there mind and bring them over to there side. Grow up folks!

Ohoo, you obviously didn't spend a lot of times on chit chat between 2002 to 2004. ESPECIALLY 2003 and ESPECIALLY 2004. I think 2004 was the worst year out of them all... But yeah, anyway.

I first started to post in Chit Chat in 2004. I remember all the fighting concerning the presitential election.

Well, I don't see the fighting as a huge deal. I'm just saddened by a fight between two good friends of mine last night. I wish I could do something to make them both feel better. To somehow get them to patch things up. But I'm sure you know when you have two good friends who are fighting it is best to just not get involved.

I used to get in fights all the time. lol Yet today, these arguments lack any sophistication...it's all petty name calling. Yeah, we're all over 10 here.

I've kinda started to notice it, too...There are just a few people who don't show respect, and that's sad.

Unfortunately, such is life...a few bad eggs can spoil good natured fun. So, I guess it's best to try to ignore the problem as best as possible?

yea, nothing like the golden days of LucyFan/TootieFan/Nathan. tho Nathan was more of a poke-fun-at kinda guy, not the get into huge arguments with. LucyFan tho, what a character.

is it sad that I still look up those fights from time to time?

I feel so old now
