When I was 18(2000), I started working out hoping to gain muscle. I only weighed 170 pounds at the time. Today, I weigh 190 pounds, but all muscle. I'm hoping to put on some more weight, but I'm still in a normal weight range. I had no idea how much confidence a good physique gives you. I must say I'm not ashamed to go to the beach anymore.

Yeah, I used to lift weights. From about age 17 to 22 or 23. I went from 105 lbs to 120 lbs. (Now I weigh 135-140 lbs).
It built up my biceps, too. From 10" to 11.5". I still exercise regularly- practically every day. I consider myself to be fit. |

I try and go to the gym on base as much as I can, but sometimes I can't get a ride. I've been trying to get into shape so I don't look like such a blob, haha.

I have a gym membership, but I dont go regularly as I should. Sometimes I just dont have the drive or motivation to drive there and do some exercise. That's one of my new year's resolution: go to the gym 3 times a week and get in shape.

I use to be. Probably did an average of 400 push ups, and 1000 sit ups a day at one time. Unfortunately, I've gotten lazy over the last few years. I really do need to get my butt motivated, and back in shape. Your health definitely isn't something you want to play around with. You'll pay later on in life for sure!!
And now that I'm finished writing this, I shall go back to drinking my 20 ounces of Coca Cola.

ME TOO! I RUN TO THE FRIDGE, USE MY MUSCLES TO BREAK OPEN A 2 LITER OF PEPSI, CHUG IT DOWN, WHICH REALLY USES A LOT OF THROAT MUSCLES, AS WELL AS GIVING MY MIDSECTION A GOOD OVER-ALL WORKOUT. THEN I FOLLOW IT UP WITH COOKING A BOX OF MAC & CHEESE. BOY-STIR THOSE NOODLES HERE. LIFT THE POT AND DRAIN THE WATER THERE. THEN SQEEZE OUT THE CHEESE HERE. STIR SOME MORE. MY BODY CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE. I'M POOPED! SO I GOTTA GO BACK TO THE FRIDGE. GRAB ANOTHER PEPSI AND YATTA..YATTA..YATTA. I USE MY NEW MUSCLES TO SLAM DOWN AN EMPTY 2 LITER, AS WELL AS USING MY "OTHER" MUSCLES TO ALL THAT GAS OUT.I'VE GOT TO REST NOW. GONNA WATCH SOME FACTS OF LIFE

I work out lightly every day. I'm 15 so I dont lift major weights. I just lift my 10 lbs dumbell about 200-450 times a night (different ways), squats, and about 50 pushups (knuckle & normal).
I'm about to start using ankle/wrist weights soon. |

All my life up until age 16 I was pencil thin, my nickname was bones. I started working out at age 16. When I first started I was a complete fitness freak working out every single day for hours on end. Throughout the years I educated myself on proper techniques, reps, sets, frequency, and nutrition. I realized rest and nutrition were just as important as the exercises. I still workout at least 4 times a week but not as hardcore as I used to. I keep my workouts no more then an hour and try to get 20 minutes of cardio every other day. I am a big backer of total body and core workouts. A good book for beginners I would recommend would be Core Performance by Mark Vertagan. This book has done wonders for me.
Physical fitness is a passion of mine, I even wrote my masters thesis on the benefits of nutrition and physical fitness for elementary school children. Fitness and nutrition has become a lifestyle for me that I hope to continue until my body no longer tells me I cannot. Keep fit and have fun!

i was a dancer until i was 17. now i run every morning, lift every other day (only 5-15 pound weights, but still very good for toning and strong bones), dance (couple classes just for fun) a few times a week, and do yoga and pilates.
oh yes, and sit ups, im really obsessed with abs recently. |

Yep! I am proud to say I've been doing a good job keeping up with physical fitness since early January 2006!
I am taking Step Aerobics at my college about 2-3 times a week, depending on the semester. This coming semester the class only meets on Mondays and Wednesdays (only twice a week). I also love to walk 2-3 miles around a nearby high school track. During the warmer months, I will walk around just before and after the sun sets. During the colder months, I'll walk around the track during the day when there's sun and when there are no high school classes in session or during the weekends. I haven't been able to keep up these last couple of weeks because of our damn snowstorm. The track is covered in snow, so it make it difficult to walk even if there is sun shine. ![]() I find it gets easier to work out once you get a method/rhythm into place. I like to take my walkman (yes, I don't have an iPod yet...gotta a problem with that?!) and jam to music. Wheee.... I can't wait until the snow melts and until Step Aerobics is back in session on Wednesday. Since I haven't been keeping up with my walk/workout during the Christmas break, I know the first couple of Step Aerobics sessions are really going to kick my butt! Ouch!!!!

That is about all the exericise I get too. The only weight lifting I do is lifting the spoon or fork to my mouth.
