It sure seems that way because everyone of my co workers who have walked past me while typing and seemed so AMAZED at my typing speed. One women so so impressed that she was actually going to pay me to type something for her. So is it just a WOMAN THING for someone to type fast?-lol Also I never took a typing course, i learned from all those 20 page papers I had to write in college

I can type between 60 and 80 wpm, but not without a lot of errors. I can type something like 35wpm accurately--not particularly fast, but fast enough I suppose. I think it's great that you have that skill--comes in handy a lot. Whenever a family member needs something typed, they ask me to do it, too. |

I think it is just a practice thing, for many years my typing was horrible. But after using Msn messenger for a couple years my speed really increased. I still look at hte keyboard when i type but I was around 50wpm the last time I tested it.
Nowadays so much correspondance is done through email that men are having to become more proficient with a keyboard. However some old dogs don't learn new tricks, it is hillarious to watch my boss 2 finger type out emails. You can hear him plucking away at the keyboard 3 desks away. |

It's not unusual in the Computer Age... I've been typing since I was about eight or nine, so I'm no mean shakes at it, either!

Tell your co-workers that there's this new invention out of Silicon Valley called a personal computer, and that it - much like your computers at work - uses a "QWERTY" keyboard. They should look into one.

I took a typing class back in the 8th grade (1975), and I never really stopped. After graduating school and before the internet, I kept in practice by typing car specs. When the internet appeared, being able to type came in very handy. I remember a few guys at school teasing me for taking a typing class (even though there were other guys in my class). They asked me what would I use typing for? I should have said, "You'll see in about 20 years!" |

Guys need to be able to type quickly if they're interested in writing a book.Me- next year, it'll have been 20 years since I started to use a computer, and I can do 90 WPM if I really try. |

I'm not sure how many words I type per minute, I just kick up the speed when I'm having a Sports Debate on my Lunch Break

When I was in high school, we all had to take a computer class...most of use took typing. We had to get 35 wpm with 95% accuracy to get an A. This was in the late '90's.
Since then, agreed that with typing all the papers and such in college, I'm a pretty fair typist... I do an avg of 75 wpm (but can do around 100) with 95% accuracy...but that's according to Mavis Becon and this other REALLY old program, for what it's worth lol
