Default Got milk?

Did you guys notice how often someone will be sitting in the kitchen in the middle of the night drinking milk? I swear, it's practically every other episode!

As a milk-lover, I have definitely noticed, and approved! Gene and Benson seemed to have made a habit of it, whether cold or hot. Also of interest is the fact that they go to the small fridge instead of the big one; private stash?

I wondered if the NDC ever sponsored the show, with all the drinking that went on.

It actually varies. Sometimes they go to the small fridge; sometimes the large one. Sometimes they warm the milk up; other times they drink it cold. They were definitely setting a good example though. With all the frustrations with dealing with bills and legislation (not to mention Clayton!), it's a wonder they didn't crack open a beer or two in the middle of the night.

Benson mentions early on that the Governor is not a drinking man, and another episode (Takin' it to the Streets?) the latter mentions that he doesn't like beer.

>>and another episode (Takin' it to the Streets?) the latter mentions that he doesn't like beer.<<

But I've since remembered that he was drinking beer at one of Benson's parties, apparently with no distaste. So the show contradicts itself -- ah, hate it when that happens!

I remember the Governor asking for a beer in the "Street Gangs" episode...when they told him the wine they had was peach wine, he said he'd rather have a beer. Now that would be surprising if he didn't like beer.

They were trying to. Milk seems healthy next to soda and liquor, but it's not healthy enough for me - I gave it up 20 years ago. In the last 10 years word's gotten out that Cows milk isn't so hot for people(especially non infants): Causes osteoporosis, maybe cancer, mucus. A lot of singers avoid milk.

Yeah, and did you read that supposedly if you drank whole milk over the course of your life rather than skim milk, it would result in less weight gain? I wonder what kind of milk they were drinking on Benson...something tells me it was 2%.

It was definitely real milk. I saw the Governor take a couple of sips, plus I saw them pour it into the glass from the carton.

And Katie did waste a lot of milk (she ate a TON of cookies!!), but her dad would have no business yelling at her about it, considering he once took a bite out of an apple and then put it back in the bowl.
