Which episode do you first remember watching?
For me, it would be The Trial of Henry Blake. |

the pilot, when it first aired back in Sept. of 72. I remember it was on Sunday nights; right after a short-lived sitcom called ANNA AND THE KING which was a sitcom version of the movie THE KING AND I.

For me it was the pilot. That was the first episode I watched. I rented it off of Netflix because I was just curious about the show itself. From then on I was hooked. There's my story.

I know we watched it before this episode, but the earliest first-run episode I remember is when Henry Blake died.

The first episode I remember watching and thinking "Wow! This is a great show and I'll have to watch more." is the Movie Night episode. The part where they all break out singing is one of my favorite moments.
They just don't make sitcoms like they used to... |

I remember when I was 3 or 4, my Mom, my Dad, and me were having stew for supper, and I was sitting on the floor at the coffee table and we were watching MASH. I have no idea what episodes I saw when I was that young, though I vaguely remember watching the credits. The colour of the show is my strongest memory: off green olive drab.

See, I vaguely remember watching it with my parents and not liking it...but then, when I was in 7th grade, I watched "The Trial of Henry Blake," and absolutely feel in love.
I think my problem before had been that I didn't understand it and I was looking for the same old type of humor that you find in most modern sitcoms (falling down clutzy jokes and sex jokes). But MASH was smarter. Once I figured that out, I researched the war and the the show more often (I guess I was a slightly odd 7th grader). I then decided I wanted to tape every episode (this was like 1993), and the first episode I taped was "Kim," which established forever Trapper as my favorite character (followed closely by Frank for some reason). |

I was never interested in it when I was a kid, probably because I didn't understand it. By the time the final episode came on, I think I was about 12 or 13, I was interested in watching the finale for some reason and really liked it! Talk about timing, lol. Now, that I'm older, I really like the show a lot.
