Suddenly, missing out on the playoffs doesn't seem like a big deal at all. Wow.

Why do NFL players continue to put theirself in the WRONG environment. It was said he was ARGUING with someone in a nightclub. Sad News. No need for NFL Players to be at a NIGHTCLUB

wow its ironic. how similar this death sounds like tupac shakur's death. He too go into an arguement after attending a fight. On his way to a club a car pulled up & tupac was fatally shot. for those of you who don't know. this is very sad news & a bad way to start off the new year. I hope the killers are caught. My thoughts and prayers are with the williams family.

So very true. Not many good things can happen when you're out at 2:00 a.m.

Is there an update to this? Have they arrested anyone? Do they know if it was a random shooting or the motive?

I agree with you Solomon. For some reason, dumb ass black athletes always gotta go to the club and leave very late at night instead of keeping their asses at home. Black athletes need to learn to do something else in their spare time besides go to the club where there's a lot of ignorant blacks.

Exactly, no where for a NFL player to be on a Saturday Night.

I think I heard a radio report saying that the police have apparently identified the vehicle that the shooter was traveling in that night. It had been painted black, except for the roof (the entire vehicle was white on the night of the shooting). The vehicle was registered to some guy who's in jail (and who was in jail the night of the shooting). Last I heard, the police are questioning the guy to see who might have been using his vehicle that night.

I heard this 3 or 4 days ago, haven't really heard anything since, but I haven't really kept up with this story.

My first thought when I heard about the shooting was "jeez, another stupid move by a young professional athlete, being out at all hours of the night, when mostly bad things can only happen". But then, I realized that it WAS New Years Eve, so in my mind, it's kind of excusable to be out that late.

We don't go out on New Year's Eve, to me, it's not worth it. I've always felt that way, even when I was in my 20s...many moons ago...

Apparently, there was a little celebration in honor of (Denver Nugget basketball player) Kenyan Martin's birthday that evening at that club. That's why Williams was there.

The shooting occurred on Sunday night, hours after the Broncos had been eliminated that afternoon from playoff contention via a loss to the San Fransisco 49ers (of all teams!).

It's unlikely Williams would have been out on a Saturday night at that hour knowing he had a game to play on Sunday (the outcome of which would determine whether or not the Broncos made the playoffs).
