Default Betty White wasn't a spin off

The Betty White Show wasnt a spin off of MTM, in MTM, Betty played sue ann nivens, in the betty white show she was Joyce Whitman, the only thing both shows had in common is that almost all main characters in Betty White were either in the MTM show or had a guest appearance, as different characters.

I guesss I would also stick with Rhoda she deserved her own spin-off, aren't you forgetting Too Close for Comfort aka The Ted Knight Show or wasn't that a spin-off?

I liked "Rhoda" and I've only seen a handful of "Lou Grant". I have never seen "Phyllis". "Lou Grant", by the way, was a drama and it had hardly any connection to Mary Tyler Moore other than Ed Asner's character being on it. It's as if when Lou left WJM-TV and went back to his first love, newspapers, he purposely forgot about Mary, Murray, Ted, Gordy, and Sue Ann...who could forget Ted?
In answer to your question about Ted Knight's TV show: his "Too Close for Comfort/Ted Knight Show" had a wacky lifespan. It ran on ABC from 1980-1983 and after it was axed ABC continued to pay for new shows to air in syndication during 1984-1986. The show could have very easily run another three years hadn't Ted not passed away in 1986. In this show he played cartoonist Henry Rush and not news anchor Ted Baxter as he did on MTM so it's not a spin-off.

The shows Rhoda and Phyllis are ok. I have never seen Lou Grant. My favorite was/is Murray. I wished that there was a Murray show.

I liked Rhoda the best. She was great on MTM, and it was evident early on that she'd get her own show.
