People always say how planes, boats, etc. disappear in the Bermuda Triangle. I don't know much about it, but I want to know if any of you believe that there is any abnormal activity in the area, or if it is just a myth.

When I was growing up, I used to hear a lot about the Bermuda Triangle, though I didn't know any of its truths. I know that at one point in time, I heard this theory that there may be some magnetic disturbance there that caused planes to get lost and crash, but that was merely a theory.
Lately, I haven't heard much about it, though, and I thought that was kinda odd...like the Bermuda Triangle got sucked into itself or something?

I certainly hope it's just a myth. According to my Dad, when we've gone on holiday, we've flown over it many times.
I don't know what to think, though. Athough planes and boats don't always disappear when they're going over it, I suppose it's always possible that something could be going on in that area. |

There are always explanations proposed for the occurrences, such as time warps and parallel universes (fiction) and ones that have more factual basis, such as magnetic disturbances.

I think it's just a myth. Ships and planes have gotten lost in any part of the world, not just that area. Amelia Earhart, anyone?

Somehow I knew that you might believe in them. I think they are interesting, but I would like to see some evidence of their existence before I believe in them. I have heard that you can travel back in time if you travel through space faster than the speed of light. I don't know whether that's true, but it's an interesting thought.
I've also heard that some researchers believe that there is no past, present, or future, and every time is represented by a parallel universe in space. |

Oh man, when I was growing up, I was all into that Bigfoot, Bermuda Triangle, Nessie (Lochness monster) stuff. BIG TIME. Just recently, I no longer believe in the Nessie monster. A documentary I seen last year, changed my views on it. I realize now all the things that people see are nothing but otters, logs, tree stumps and water waves. They went to great lengths to disprove the Nessie monster. So, check that bastard off my list.
I used to believe in the Bermuda Triangle. However, several years ago, they stated that there are no more lost ships, boats, etc. in that area than there are in any other part of the world. Thanks to the Amazing Randi (a great debunker) I no longer believe in that triangle theory. He wrote some great books on mysteries such as these. Bigfoot. I still believe in that creature. Having traveled to Northern California last year, seeing the Redwoods and the forests and of course, visiting the area known for Bigfoot sightings, I can see how a creature could have alluded us all these years. That forest is one mighty place. Driving in the dark, I was deeply afraid, I kept imagining a creature would come out in front of the car at any moment! Also, the fact that the man who filmed that famous piece of film of the supposed Bigfoot stated on his deathbed that his film was authentic and he was not a hoaxer, kinda tells me this man is honest and had nothing to gain by lying even on his deathbed. |
